Suga is a truly vicious rapper when pissed off and we love to see it. This is a pure flex at all the rappers who put him (and RM) down for years for not being real rappers any more. He’s such a sarcastic ass gosh we adore him. There is a sequel to this another MV, Give It To Me. Keep in mind he produced all the beats on this too (and all his solo work) he’s such a talented musician it’s not even fair.

Agust D is "DT Suga" spelled backwards, with DT meaning Daegu Town. They often introduce themselves in Korean by putting the entity they belong to in front of their names. So you'll hear RM introduce himself as BTS RM, for example.

Suga raps like he’s spitting bullets, his words heavy like lead and it comes at you fast you just gotta take it then process it later. “Give it to me” his rap teeters between sanity and madness, you ever been so livid you just fucking laugh? That’s the feel of that rap. “Shadow” Suga’s interlude is his expression of his insecurities, grappling between the fame and his self. Suga’s “Seesaw” is beautifully introspective of how relationships can toggle between two people.

Proper translation of some lyrics is "I'll send you to Hong Kong with my tongue technology" - sending someone to Hong Kong is (or at least was) a Korean idiom meaning to make someone come. But to get the meaning across more easily, the translator for this video said "I'll turn you on". Sometimes the translation of lyric videos depends not just on the translators personal take on the lyrics but also their personal preferences on conservatism. I've seen some that change "shit" to "poop" haha. Keep up the good work :)

It is true to lyrics that fans do like color coded, etc, I don't like this shit - poop thing too or bastard - bad guy. But here I don't thing it is that big deal, it is official video, and bighit/hybe made CC for this, when MV is on their page they do translations, and I'm sure that someone check up translations before they put in with video, for sure not one person make decision, there is team and they decide that this will be the best for GP, it is a little more PG but still meaning is good and acurate. Sad news is some members of the hiphop community in Korea refuse to accept RM and Suga as rappers/hiphop artists and of course deny their status and music. They criticized them heavily for joining an idol group and insulted them for wearing make up on stage. If you'll read the english translations of the lyrics, those people are the same ones Yoongi is targetting in this song. The reason why the rapline's mixtapes gained attention is because the armys can see the talent without prejudice. Good news is most popular Korean rappers who got into the game early on have expressed admiration for them and supported them.

There are quite a few sexual references in this song from "tongue technology" to "I'm from the D", and "take you to hong kong" which is korean slang for make you orgasm (but is translated to "turn you on" in the video lyrics). People/reactors latch on to "STD" and think he's ignorant of the meaning, but I really think it plays into the theme. It means his music is infectious and has spread every where.

Okay so for Jhope has many great solo songs, currently one of my personal favorites of his are from his new album Jack in the Box. One song is called Safety Zone and another is Equal Sign. The lyrics are amazing and I know you will love the music. For RM, I really love Seoul and Bicycle, these are much softer but very good. Suga has been featured on other artists tracks, both American and Korean. There's Blueberry Eyes with Max, Eight with IU (produced by Suga) and most recently the song That That with Psy, which Suga also produced.

"this are BTS members?" 7 complete artists I see you in 2025 going to their first concert with army bombs :D MV explanation The fact that he's on a moving trailer I take it as he was tied up, he himself has to try to escape with no help, since the world ain't stopping just for him.When he's done untying himself, everything falls down around him and things don't remain static, he gotta find his balance (now with no restraints). He looks out of the window to check where he's at, his surroundings. Finally, he opens the door (metaphorically!) and sees the world not though the window, but at the same level. After that, he just goes up the stairs and sits down... on top of the world/industry :) (O might be mistaken, but that's my interpretation of things). PS. Rap songs are not mainstream everywhere. BTS have gone so many sh*t just to have their music heard and they made it. And by the way, Suga loves Eminem. His first album purchase was Eminem's album, he said in an interview. BTS made me love rap so much that I'm learning some things about rap and rappers in general. It would be great if he can perform his songs live just as how Jhope was able to perform his songs from his Hope World mixtape and his latest album "Jack in the Box". He said that when he recorded his first mixtape 'Agust D' he had so much anger inside and he went through a lot of difficult and dark times, that's why it's so different in many aspects than his second mixtape 'D2'. Oh, I wouldn't say agust d is mainstream "rap". But he shuts pretty much everyone when he so decides :) You have a whole rap industry, you can check Epik High (lesson zero is a must for mankind), YoungJi (she's adorable xD), Bewhy, Loco, CL... And the father of them all, Tiger JK and his wife Tasha Reid/Yoon Mirae. I'd recommend from them maybe the collab with RM "Bucku Bucku" (it means "shy") or recent Tiger JK Love Peace and POV for instance :) -- there is a sort of "american idol" show named "Show me the money", it's on its 11th season, it's just rap and hip hop contest :) There are mmm counterparts/spin offs (?) like High School rapper (only for high schoolers) and Unpretty Rapstar (only for female rappers). About JHope solo, I love all of them, and depending on the mood you can go one way or the other, but I'd suggest Arson as it's as recent as it gets (and maybe you can dive into Hobipalooza concert - headliner, 100k audience, more than 1h stage) About RM solo, I'd suggest Voice and Awakening, as well as Do You. From his first Mixtape, although you'll love Monster and Throw Away (I think). Suga collab... That That XD Mmmmm I like Halsey's interlude and MAX Blueberry Eyes. As featured in other artists songs. But since they usually have a swap clause, many artists have collab'd with him: Dear My Friend is one of my favorite songs but it's his ^^

I think my favourite thing about Suga is how emotional his rapping style is. Suga writes a lot of songs about mental health, and because they are so emotional, they suit his style of rapping so well. He often uses different voices and styles to play different characters such as different sides of himself, Intro: Shadow he has an argument with 3 different sides himself, while in First Love he raps as himself and as his piano, with his rap slowly getting more and more desperate and raw leading to the crescendo. He takes you on an emotional journey that is so healing even when you don't real the lyrics. I like to listen in the dark with my eyes shut and just _feel_. Some of these are... So Far Away Intro: Shadow (go with the full length version not the MV, MV is only an argument between 2 sides of himself) First Love The Last

You know not all korean artists/idols have this type of old hiphop style. It’s just that BTS is unique and popular at the same time, that’s why you’re assuming others may be like them. Most idols rap style are like blackpinks, or a bit melodic or mainstream type, nothing too deep or old. Just a simple rap verse with a sprinkle of “swag”. Most kpop idols became rappers because they couldn’t sing, so it’s not like they truly chose it, the label chooses the roles of their groups. They don’t even write their raps (bp included), so they’re not true rappers. I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing of them for not writing, it’s just that they don’t deserve more credit or even the title of ‘rapper’. Some idiots even refuse to address BTS as ‘rappers’ when they are worthy of the title more than a lot of rappers in Korea (overall “rappers” nowadays). As they have every element a true rapper is required of. Delivery, lyrics, rhymes, more than 1 style, more than 1 message, creating the beat, producing, composing, tone, attitude, wordplay, flow, speed, freestyle, savage, beat rhythm, etc…. The only few rappers in Korea that I actually like their styles are Rain, Jessi, CL, Bobby, SKZ 3racha, Tiger JK and Zico (RMs friend from middle school) and obviously BTS. Actually BTS is in their own lane musically overall. No one’s style is like theirs, maybe an artists style is similar to one of their genres. But there is no artist that can fully be compared to them (be it, korean, american or any other artist from any country), their wide discography of different music for everyone. Because they do so many genres and messages. The most you’ve seen from them is hiphop or rap and songs about haters. Even their rap is not only about haters. They have hiphop songs about struggles, comfort, passion, etc…. You also haven’t seen much of vocal line or them as a whole group, I think that’s why it’s easy for you to compare them to others or who you think have similar styles as them. But there is one last rap line song that you haven’t reacted to and it’s a lot different from the others, Outro: Her. But we’d appreciate it, if you give a chance to them as Bangtan Sonyeondan whole 7. That’s what’s special about them, being 7 brothers spreading positivity with their passion for music. I assure you, that you’re missing out for a lot. If you’re open-minded, I’m sure you’ll like their other stuff, not just hiphop related. See all sides of them to truly understand and appreciate their deep artistry. See their vulnerable sides, not just swag and success, that’s not what they’re about. Suga one of the fastest rapper in SK, i believe he's in the top 10 fastest rapper, around 5th or 6th. But his style is way different, raw. His D2 album is crazy, the 'chill' tracks are so doooope! 💯
