Agust D is Suga DT backwards. The DT stands for Degeu Town which is the name of an old rap group he was in back when he went by the name gloss WAY before he signed with bighit and was a poor and struggling underground rapper. He has A LOT of pride for his home town Degeu and in many of his songs and bts songs refers to himself as being 'from the D' or being a 'd-boy' similar to the bts cyphers. this song is a huge call out to those people who call him 'only an idol rapper' or a 'sell out' he is proving that he has the talent and he has earned his way to the top through skill and hard work.

Suga (aka Agust D aka my bias) is a really deep dude! He went through a very rough past growing up with a poor family and would almost always get ripped off trying to sell music on the streets to raise some money. Even after signing with big hit he experienced trouble, he got hit by a car and broke his shoulder but didn’t tell anyone bcuz he was afraid he would get kicked out, to this day he can’t do those extreme dance moves but he still works hard in everything he does and nonetheless he dances like a GOD! But look at the dude now, he is the lead rapper in the worlds biggest boy band! In terms of personality, he looks like the savage guy who just doesn’t give a crap but he secretly cares deeply about his other members. He loves to sleep, he spaces out and gets a little shy during some interviews, is sarcastic af, but most of all he loves his career..... and let’s not take aside the fact that this man LITERALLY SPITS FIRE!!!! i'm so proud of my boy yoongi :')) he used to be so well known within the underground hip hop community when he was younger, but when it was announced he was going to debut as an idol, the underground rappers turned their backs. im gonna be honest and i know i'll get a lot of hate for this, but i totally see where they're coming from. i'm so tired of all these armys being like "who are they to talk, they're nobodies", "look what hard work has done to him and where he's standing now", etc. just talking maaaad shit and sending death threats to rappers who’ve already apologized i mean lets be honest, comments like those kind of prove these underground rappers to be right. yeah sure, some of these are just jealous haters, sexists and homophobes calling yoongi and namjoon gay and stuff for wearing make up but i’m talking about the REAL ones who actually got legit reasons to be disappointed. hip hop is about struggles in society and not about money, fame or capitalism like the agencieis (who are constantly exploiting and producing idols one after one) are about. and fuck yeah i sincerely understand that they feel betrayed for leaving them even if it wasn't his intention. y'all need to understand that im not shitting on you. i listen to kpop as well, i eat mcdonalds, i do lots of shit, but it'd still be foolish of me to deny the fact that industries like the kpop industry and mcdonalds are absolutely shallow capitalist trash. i love kpop but im not afraid to criticize the industry cus i hate capitalism. and tbh i think yoongi understands this as well. i think he know exacly what his ex-friends are talking about and that's why he's so conflicted. ofc he loves bts, holy shit they're his brothers, but the fact that he's struggling so much with mental illness, threatened to quit bts multiple times bc they changed the concept from hip hop-ish to more idol-edm says a lot in my opinion. i think that's why he's always working so hard as well, constantly writing and producing his own stuff to show everyone that he's more than just "a sellout". he didn't want to debut as an idol. i'm sure he still got the similar values as the underground community, he just happened to become and idol cus he wanted to do what he loves the most. i really respect him so much. he's so passionate about music and i hope he never loses that, never forgets his true purpose but stay true to himself. i'll probably get even more hate for saying this, but just like yoongi mentioned himself, kpop isn't big enough for him. we all know he always loved to produce his own music, even before bts. i know he still produces some with bighit, but i think he's struggling cus he know it's not enough. he got a lot more to show the world and i'm so proud of him for creating his own name, beside suga. i really think this is a big step in his career as well as it has helped him to handle his guilt mentally. i'm seriously tearing up i love this boy so much and i wish him the best even if it means without bts. sorry for being so emo and @y'all haters, i got nothing more to say lmao

Adding onto what people have already said about Suga/ Agust D, to me he's the real definition of a rapper that made it. If i remember correctly, before joining BigHit, he sold his songs for only ten cent and people literally scammed him and stole his songs. Also, I remember him saying that he sometimes had to choose between eating or taking the bus. So he's not just those rappers that only claim that they struggled. Suga literally struggled and climb his way up.
