🔥🔥 as a 62-year-old man this is just another band that came out of the 70s that I was fortunate to be able to grow up with , and as you see they were badass , 💯 , I love the double and triple guitar players at the bands of the 60s & 70s brought, when the 80s hit it was pretty much single guitar players for a while , you know the Eddie Van Halen era I LIKE TO ROCK 🔥 JUST BETWEEN YOU AND ME🔥 SIGNS OF A GYPSY QUEEN 🔥 They got more songs but there's a good start on songs by APRIL WINE , ANOTHER BANGER REACTION 👏🏽👍🏽💯 KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 💪🏽🇺🇸🫡

April Wine could rock and write catchy songs. Highly underrated...great musicians. One of the original Canadian rock bands...1st record was in 1972.
@blazingtrailsblogvideos1463Ай бұрын
Actually their first album was self-titled 'April Wine' from 1971. I'm 66 and have been an April Wine fan since 'Electric Jewels' in 1973. I saw them live in '74 at the Edmonton Jubilee Auditorium. Sixth row from the stage, dead center. One of my buddies caught the chunk of styrofoam that was shot from a cannon when they played 'Drop Your Guns'. Buddy still has it! I consider April Wine to be Canada's greatest rock band of all time. Yes, better than Rush or The Guess Who. They released many albums and had multiple hits over decades. Poor management stopped them from being a major hit world wide in my opinion. Their music is timeless.
@michaelvandiver2475Ай бұрын
@@blazingtrailsblogvideos1463 Great story!..I'd put the Mount Rushmore of Canada for Rock as - Rush, Guess Who, April Wine, BTO...just my opinion...for Canadian acts in general you gotta include Gordon Lightfoot (the king?), Joni Mitchell and Neil Young and the often overlooked Triumph.
@blazingtrailsblogvideos1463Ай бұрын
@@michaelvandiver2475 Another terrific Canadian rock band 'Streetheart' should be included on that list as well. Their lead singer Kenny Shields had a voice made for rock. Streetheart formed in 1977 and had multiple hits.

Founded in Halifax, NS Canada. Huge band here in Canada. Many Many Hits.. Their greatest response internationally throughout the 1970s and early '80s came with songs such as, "You Could Have Been a Lady" (1972), "Tonite Is a Wonderful Time to Fall in Love" (1975), "Roller" (1979), "I Like to Rock" (1980), "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" (1981) my absolute favourite from them, and "Just Between You and Me" (1981). I love both countries equally and love the music that came from both! LOL... Actually, it's Jerry Mercer. And yes, he's an incredible drummer. I saw him perform with April Wine many times back in the day. They used to close a lot of their shows with a cover of King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man. Jerry would go nuts on the kit! Prior to April Wine he was with the Canadian band Mashmakhan. They can be seen performing in the film Festival Express, documenting the 1970 TransCanada rail journey featuring many artists, including Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, and Buddy Guy, to name a few.

These guys are originally from my part of the country. The band was established in 1969, put out their first of 16 studio albums in 1971….10 live albums, several eps and innumerable complication albums, more than 60 singles, many of which were hits. They were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame……. The lead singer, Myles Goodwin, passed away in 2023. The lineup in this video…which dates from 1978: Myles Goodwyn - lead vocals, guitar Brian Greenway - vocals, guitar Steve Lang - bass, vocalss Gary Moffett - guitar, backing vocals Jerry Mercer - drums & percussion Try some of the older songs…..one of my favourites is “Ooowatanite” from the 1975 album “Stand Back”. It was a hit single, as was the one you just heard. I still wear my April Wine tee shirt and have been a fan since the early 1970s….

Interesting fun fact , The Drum Tech for this band April Wine at the start was a Lorne Wheaton , He use to help bands in the Toronto area when they were starting g at in high Schools , including Rush loading equipment, April Wine hired him as their Drum Tech when they got going , Lorne went on with Brian Adam’s drum tech , Journeys Steve Smith , And when Steve left Journey Lorne went on with him , Lorne also was with other bands , When Neil Peart lost his Drum tech he hired Lorne , Lorne stayed with Rush till the end , , when Neil passed Kiss hired him on the spot , , So the basic story Lorne knew Rush from The high school gigs till the end
