Billie and Finneas (her brother who co-writes and is her exclusive producer) have created their own lane. Song suggestions? Her 1st hit, Ocean Eyes. From her EP, Bellyache and idontwannabeyouanymore. 1st album, when the party's over and bury a friend. 2nd album, Male Fantasy and Oxytocin.

Billie was a dancer. Had to quit after an injury. Her dance teacher had asked her to create a song to choreograph a dance to. She and her brother recorded “Ocean Eyes” when she was 13 and uploaded it to SoundCloud. The song took off and here she is. She’s 19 now. She and her brother Finneas write, record, and produce all her music. She directs her own music videos and only uses cgi when absolutely necessary. She has won 7 Grammys so far. That’s it in a nutshell. Enjoy.

Yeah, if he didn't kill the video as soon as it went to black it pops up with the credit "Directed by Billie Eilish".

It is amazing those two got 15 Grammys in two years, including the Grammys for the theme song for the next Bond film "No Time To Die" coming out this fall.

Also, to mention they recorded in her brother bed room!🙌🏼

She’s risen to fame rather quickly. You may recognize her from one of her breakout hits, “Bad Guy” a couple years ago. According to Wikipedia, “She is the youngest artist in Grammy history and second overall to win all four general field categories-Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year-in the same year.”
@garywtyler3 жыл бұрын
All true, and she and her brother Finneas do all the writing and producing together. When she won 5 Grammys, her won 6, because he also got Producer of the year.
@grenvthompson3 жыл бұрын
@@garywtyler he got 5, he didn't win best new artist. Last year they won another 2 each. {edit} he did win 6 - also got Best Engineered Album along with the Producer of the Year award.

To be fair, it wasn't as quick as you'd think. She started singing in 2015, released her first EP in 2017. She just didn't have a full studio album until 2019, so it seems like a faster start, but she already had a small following before then.

There is no way you could classify her as a product of the music industry, her and her brother Finneas write and produce all her music and make and direct their own videos, they have been working on them since she was 13 and she doesn't conform to any one genre per say. Also she is the youngest artist to achieve 1 billion live streams on Spotify. Been a firm favourite of my daughter's since her career began.

You're quite right when you say you can't put Billie into a box and nor does she want to be put in one. She said so herself.

Her and her brother recorded her first album in her bedroom with household sounds. She’s epic!! Worth looking into!!

She and her bro Finneas were home schooled., and this gave them a lot of flexibility and time to pursue their interests. They both were doing creative things from a young age- playing instruments, choir, writing music. Billie also loved making videos as a kid- you can see her creative vision in directing this video (and others). Her parents are actors (mostly small parts here and there- her Mom also taught comedy courses and her Dad did odd jobs in construction). Billie's Mom taught her and Finneas how to write songs. Comedy, dance, choir, creating music- these were a big part of their home life. Finneas is 4 years older than her and is an accomplished musician on multiple instruments (like- professional level) and a brilliant producer (working the most with Billie but with other artists too on specific projects)

Billie did bust her ass doing smaller gigs at clubs traveling to different states before someone started to notice her as a rising star. If you have Apple TV watch the world's a little blurry. It shows how it all began up until after her first album.

When Billie was 12 years old, her home school assignment was to watch a show and write a song about it. She chose, THE WALKING DEAD, you got to check it out it's called, FINGERS CROSSED.

The genre is half pop-soul, half pop-rock. It's a song in two movements -- and the fact that I'm even using the term "movements" to describe a modern pop song is fucking amazing.

Funny thing... Most school girls could do the same with amazing production that she obviously has. I'm sorry honestly don't see it. She relies on her production soo much it hurts.
@thelorelei18843 жыл бұрын
Billie and her brother Finneas write all her songs. They record them in her childhood bedroom that she grew up in, and still lives in, not in a studio. Finneas produces all the songs himself. Just him, no big production team. It's just the two of them. So I highly doubt most school girls could do the same.
