One of my favorite SUGA songs. The raw lyrics and emotion being expressed is so connective, understanding, and relatable. He was able to deliever his fears, desires, weaknesses, strengths, and more all throughout this song. Which is why i enjoyed it so much. Everytime he raps i get chills because of his emotion and tone when he is delievering and the lyrics within themselves hold so much exposure and power. I am really glad you guys enjoyed this interlude of SUGA's. He never dissapoints and ALSO...YOU ARE GOING TO HIS CONCERT!!!!!! It's really fun to hear your thoughtful interpretation of the song! And you are spot on about the two Sugas! To add some history, this album belongs to their Map of the Soul series, and it's directly tied into swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung's theories. This is the middle of the album where we come to term with our "Shadow", the side of ourselves that we prefer to hide behind the "persona" - the Intro by RM. The full series leads you through songs that takes you on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance. Which ends with Outro: Ego by J-Hope. In Jung's theories, Jung saw the ego as the centre of the field of consciousness which contains our conscious awareness of existing and a continuing sense of personal identity. being at the top is even harder for BTS because the korean music industry shut them out for years and media still does (they won't even write their achievements like that they've been nominated for grammys, Skoreans have said on multiple occasions they had no idea how big bts was globally because of the media) and the western music industry there is a lot of prejudice and xenophobia and RM said they are like aliens to the U.S music industry and he doesn't know if there's a place for them or not. they feel like they don't belong anywhere. no one in their country has achieved musically to the greatness and level that they have so they're the first one's experiencing everything alone, the gap between them and all other groups is huge, so it's very lonely for them at the top

Yes, guys, it is truly hunger games for tickets (at least it has been like that for bts’ concerts). So really read as much as you can about how to increase your chances of getting tickets.. keep in mind the 3 stages. If I remember correctly, bts concerts usually dont even get to general sale stage because armys membership sale takes all the tickets. So search and read about it so you are not disappointed that you didnt know something about the ticket buying process..

They have heard Agust d and Dechwita already but I agree with the rest. I would add so far away to the mix cause it just brings the lyricism and beauty for me, plus it has two versions to react to. However, any of his d-2 songs is top tier, so you guys might just go ahead and do a full mixtape reaction lol. Or maybe react to 7 of his d-2 songs everyday in Suga week or smth, that would be dope.. as a celebration for his bday as well

This song is part of the album Map of Soul based on Jung's theory (persona, ego and shadow are parts of it). He shows something similar in Daewchita, I mean, his struggles controlling his shadows, that make him the genius he is, but can't be who control his life. You can find the same subject in Black Swan...

Yes, Shadow is so good! I like your interpretation of “his famous self” vs “his humble self”, I definitely think that plays a role, I’d add my interpretation of him questioning his original ambitions and goals like “now that you achieved things, it’s not like you thought, it’s terrifying, but you wanted this life so why are you complaining?” The ending shot with the cellphones sends shivers down my spine honestly. Would you consider an album reaction (like what you did for indigo) in prep for his concert? Agust D and D-2 are both great projects that deserve to be listened to in order/in their entirety. His BTS solos (this song, First Love, Seesaw, Nevermind, In the mood for love…) are great too. I’m wishing all the best for your ticket buying, hope you get to go to the concert! It's Korean rap trio. They are so dope really love their earlier stuff. Their album Swan Song is dope. They use a bit of sampling from American hip hop. Fav song is Lesson 3. Just sayin :P

I'm so late to comment ahhh!! 😫 I meant to do so earlier but I was busy. Anyway, this is one of my favorite Suga tracks. I love the contrast in the lyrics between himself and his shadow. You guys were spot on abt that. Suga actually tends to do this contrast thing alot. Even in Daechwita he does it and I love it. His solo music is different than what it is in BTS, but there's still some of it that bleeds over into it and I think that's awesome he mixes his identities like that. The man is a genius for real. He's having his US and Asia tour and I hope y'all can get tickets but it's literally the hunger games and every man for himself so good luck lol! Also if you haven't heard yet, J-hope will be releasing a single soon called "On The Street" next month then he'll be getting ready to enter into his military service. I love this song, like full version is soo interesting, one bc you have Min Yoongi as Suga speaking and then his shadow is speaking to him and at the end this change that is cool and give more energy, with words like "You are me I'm you" simply stating facts ahh...
