2:23 The instrumental you're referring to is called the horns line. Cameo was known for their incredible horn arrangements back in the day. Earth Wind & Fire, Con-funk-shun, The Commodores, Parliament-Funkadelic, Kool & The Gang and KC & the Sunshine Band are a few other funk bands that had incredible horn sections back in the day. 🎺🎶

I love that album so much. I was a junior in high school and went to some of these mostly black underground parties with some of my friends and after a while it became just a regular thing like every Tuesday night plus random other times. But this got played a lot along with many other songs from this feel me album. Check out a song called keep it hot. People would really shake their booty that for sure.

Omg, how did I miss this reaction. I can't remember if it was on here or somewhere else, but I'm always singing praises from the 1980 Cameo album, right before they downsized from like nine or ten guys in the band to basically 3 and really kind of had some bigger Super Pop hits. But this record, and it does have some really slow stuff on it that people made out to, but it's got several bangers on it like this one, and a couple that I think are even more complex and more amazing than this, but this is the stuff you heard at parties in high school and somebody's backyard, or in somebody's basement, mostly black, and people partying and dancing like crazy. The name of the album is Feel Me. Keep It Hot, Your Love (Takes Me Out), Roller Skates ... these are all also total bangers off this same exact album as Freaky Dancing.

Yassss! Back in the day, these songs were the total workout! Lol You had to have stamina, be in shape to dance the whole song! But we were young so it wasn't a problem then! Lol

one of my favorite cameo dance songs that I feel like is underrated. You can just put on The kights of The Sound Table LP & let it play all the way through. At least, that's what we did back in the day. Am I that old ? And young lady, you have an excellent ear for music To have you 20/30 something's react to my era of music and like it is. Definitely a good thing, and all hope is not lost for future generations. Maybe we'll get some more silk sonics out here.

Great reaction, this is one of cameo's songs that I must have missed back in the day. But I definitely didn't miss Cameo's songs "Shake your pants", I just want to be, Candy and Sparkel.

That whole album is great, as is Cameosis and many other. A really cool song is "Slow Movin'". Cameo's sound changed alot around 1982 when they, as many others, couldn't afford 10-piece bands and went down to like 3 and synths.
