Yes this was his first song he sing in Chinese. Watching the full version, his concern was his accent and he was worried the audience wouldn't understand him. I love that he put in the time and care because he truly wants to do the songs justice while connecting with the audience

thank you for your great heartfelt reaction to this beautiful song please can you react to daybreak which is another chinese song Dimash sang in the same talent show. He was sick at the time he performed this song but he still wowed the audience and he later performed this song spectacularly in his basteau concert. The song has a very sad true back story and Dimash portrays the emotion of the story beautifully.

Autumn Strong was the 4th performance of The Singer competition in China in 2017. This was the first song he sang in Mandarin. He was so grateful to his Chinese audience for welcoming him so warmly that he wanted to say thank you in this way. He only had a week to learn the lyrics and the correct pronunciation. That was very important to him. A really tough job. From the reaction of the audience you can see that he has mastered it with flying colors. Many Chinese reactors also said that his pronunciation was almost perfect. Autumn Strong is a song he always sings in his concerts. Every time it is a very emotional moment. Another very emotional song is Daybreak also from The Singer competition. I highly recommend you to watch the version with the story behind on the Gloria Wu channel first and then the one from his Bastau concert. It was the 8th performance of this competition. I don’t think there are copyright issues, because the videos on this channel are already edited and there are English subtitles. I think you will appreciate the Bastau version even more if you’ve seen The Singer version before. In my opinion, it loses at bit of its impression, if you don’t know why he sings, the way he sings. This song tells a very sad but true story. You really have to watch this with subtitles. It’s really important to know what the song is about. In the Singer version he was so sick and had a severe sore throat and fever. He lost his voice the night before his performance of Daybreak. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. He got 5 injections from this doctor in the hospital. And the doctor told him not to sing high notes. You can see how concerned the other competitors were and they suffered with him. They knew he was not doing well and one of them even gave him a very expensive Chinese medicine from his own inventory. The problem was his busy schedule between the performances and he didn’t have enough time to recover. He made very good friends there and many friendships still exist today. After the performance he lost his voice again. It’s unbelievable how he always manages to convey emotions to such a degree. Though I think in this one particular version the emotions he shows are mostly concern about his voice keeping up with the song and the pain he must have been in doing it. The Bastau version (no sore throat) of Daybreak is phenomenal and mind-blowing. So emotional and heartbreaking. Maybe you can do both together. Many reactors do and so you can see the difference between this two performances. In both versions I always cry my eyes out. I don’t know why I have to cry more. Because of the story or the fact, that he was in such pain and performed anyway because he didn’t want to disappoint the audience. Both version were in the same year 2017. They might not have taken Dimash seriously at first, but that quickly changed after SOS. Through ist honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Ikanaide is a Japanese song about dont go away written by a famous Japanese singer. Autumn strong is a different song about a popular Chinese actress living in Japan without people knowing she was actually Chinese and when they found out they banned her from China and this is about her never seeing China again.

I view “Autumn Strong” and “Ikanaide” as two completely different songs too, not as various versions. I think his attire here represented the travel clothes, since he was singing about the Japanese actress/singer who was forced to leave China. The soprano part was a tribute to her as well, imho.

Yes this version Autumn strong is one of my Dimash all time favorites, one of many ofcourse. I'd like to recommend another, Daididau from - The Singer episode 7. also Samaltau - Tokyo jazz festival. I know you did The Love of Tired Swans video, but the live performance at the Kremlin is one that shouldn't be missed. I know it's Dimash I could go on and on , sorry. Hello Sohum, in an interview Dimash said that at 4 to 5 years old he dreamed of the stage, so he designed a stage with speakers, microphones and etc... . His mother is an opera soprano and his parents used to perform and he was the one who took the stage to say thank you... at the age of five...

Hola amigo, la lengua materna de DIMASH es kazajo y también habla Ruso pues Kazajistán antes pertenecía a los países de la antigua republica soviética pero creo que provienen ,de los kurdos, Kazajistán es un país Euroasiático x eso tienen los ojos parecidos a los orientales. Stunning performance, stunning song. In later performances of this beautiful song as he finishes with the last high note, he lowers the microphone so that his voice just naturally fills the room without the aid of the microphone. It's just a stunning way to finish and the power in his voice is just incredible. I love both the Japanese and Chinese versions. When isaw him live in Turkey, he started with Autumn Strong, then did a verse from Ikanaide and finished with Autumn Strong, just beautiful!! I have to give credit to the orchestra and the background vocalists are top-notch. I especially thought they gave a fantastic performance when Dimash sang "Adagio." Dimashs' native language is of course Kazakh and Russian. As you watch each performance of Dimash on The Singer, you can hear how his English and Mandarin improved with each song. When he sang "Daybreak" on the show, he was sick with a cold, a sore throat, and a fever. He got sick the day of or before the show and had to get throat injections in order to sing. Even being sick, he still killed it, but you could see the pain in his face before and after his performance. My favorite is Ikanaide, because of that hum he did at the end. It gave me chills. That was a hard choice though. Thank you again Sohum.

I may be in the minority, but I'd like people to recommend this vezi over Ikanaide. Autumn strong is much more beautiful and sensitive. I love this performance, it's in my top 1 by Dimash. Ikanaide is also good, but not as fragile and more pompous.
