Excellent review. This song is from King Creole which is one of Elvis's best so that's as good of a movie as any to begin with.

I really like your Elvis reactions. Pavarotti once said that he envied Elvis' voice because Elvis could sing anything . Elvis could sing opera like him, but he couldn't sing like Elvis. I love the back and forth between Kitty and Elvis. She sounds wonderful. There are so many great songs in this movie.❤❤❤

For instance look up the song of Dolly Pardon that she wanted Elvis to sing. She and Elvis were grieved over the missed opportunity. But the colonel refused to give on it. Dolly said; she really wanted to see what Elvis could do with it. The colonel not only cut off so many opportunities for Elvis and for him with others, he cut off his own nose to spite his face. He turned down many dramatic rolls in movies for which Elvis wanted to do. But the colonel was dogmatic about the musicals cause that’s where he made a lot more money past the initial movie. But in the last few years of the movies, Elvis got less and less good song material for those movies because of the colonels demand for the copyrights. The writers deserved their own creative benefits in full not part and Elvis knew it. Why he began to loose interest in the movie career and the same thing happening in the later Vegas years. (The colonel needed to go when the 1968 comeback was done) his usefulness was long spent. Elvis was ready for the change. But the colonel had a way in scaring his dad and his inner circle and they sabotage Steve Binder from further contact with Elvis even tho Elvus gave his a number to reach him. They blocked it.. Steve Binder did the 68 come back special. There are 3 KZbin clips through the years after Elvis died with Steve and those who helped that tell the truth. I say this because one movie shows the colonel as the one who mastered getting Elvis to do the 68 comeback. He did not, in fact he did his best to sabotage it only wanting a Christmas special as he’d then have control over copyrights. The colonel lost some of that control with the 68 comeback and he wasn’t willing to allow any further contact with others and Elvis as result. All this was done behind Elvis back. Steve was even black balled by the colonel where he could not get a back stage pass in Vegas to see Elvis. Steve Binder was a master at what he did with many artist. That should have never happened. But the colonel knew how to play on the jealousy and insecurities of the inner circle around Elvis to keep him isolated. Why Binder suggested to Elvis in the first place, he loose some of his entourage, without slandering or giving specifics. however Elvis didn’t realize he was being manipulated by many of them, “for the colonel’s purposes”.

Wish we could have had more of Elvis and Kitty White singing together in movies. Maybe even in a single or two. But the colonel was greedy in keeping Elvis separated & under his control. He made a lot of money on Elvis’s music even grabbing control copy rights wherever possible so he’d capitalize. The colonel had serious greedy tunnel vision for that reason to line his own pockets. He could care less about the beautiful artistry of Elvis’s music or others. That hurt Elvis and limited him in getting a lot of great music opportunities. .

I will definitely be there for Elvis movie reactions. I think a lot of people will suggest this movie - King Creole. I would also suggest Loving You, Viva Las Vegas, Double Trouble, and The Trouble With Women. He did 31 feature films and I love most of them. Love your reaction ❤

Kitty white was that beautiful women’s voice. You need to see the whole clip from the beginning into the intro bluesy New Orleans riverboat. This was Elvis 4th movie King Creole. He was given an extension before reporting to the military in 1958. My favorite songs from the movie are Crawfish , king Creole and Trouble. He was already popular and sold over 4 million records.

Oh, you need to watch the movie in which this was the opening song, King Creole. I rented it last week off Amazon and really enjoyed it. It’s a dramatic movie but with lots of Elvis singing in it. The director was the same as for Casablanca and there was Academy Award buzz around it. And you already have a movie channel? I’m a def fan girl after watching the Elvis movie and going down the Elvis rabbit hole. Another great song by Elvis. Crawfish? Sultry? 🔥🔥🔥🔥

There’s some really good movies and some not so good as result of how he was contracted by the colonel for the movies. They had him for a measure of time so they’d cram as many movies in as they could. And with the strangle hold colonel had in the songs he’d get to yo grabbing sone copyrights sone he’d not get the best of material for songs. He was promised those less than best situational songs would never be in song sound tracks. But every promise ever made Elvis was broken due to greed. The colonel could care less if the song made him look out of touch, he just wanted the in one in those sounds track and he took advance of the loyal Elvis fans to buy them anyway. Many say this greedy pushed was the cause of his own down fall. He was board..
