This is the anthem of the women on our area. Status symbols just don't impress people. We work to live, not live to work and the rest of the time is for ATVs, fishing, mudding, horses, target practice, building fast cars with friends, camp fires with friends, and minding our own business. We don't care for fancy, expensive, restaurants, theaters, museums and night clubs where everybody is dressed trying to impress everybody else. Just for reference, if city people make fun, that's ok too. Once they get to spend a weekend at our house, they typically look for a house around here.

I once saw an all male band get dared to do this song.... and they did... with a few ummm minor changes to one line... instead of Walmart, they sang Pep Boys (auto parts store for those who don't know) and instead of man.... they sang hand..and then when they finished the song, the lead singer turned to the band and said, "grab your purses boys, we're out of here." OMG the club erupted with applause and a LOT of laughter. If it wasn't for the fact that we were all already standing, they'd have gotten a standing ovation! Loved this song from the first moment I heard it. Still got the CD.

I met Gretchen about 15 years ago. This song fits her well. There was "I'm a star" attitude from her. She was just a humble regular gal. I'm not much of a country music fan but I had a blast at her show. She was a genuinely nice person.

If you want to check out some more country artists I highly recommend listening to Danielle Bradbery. She won The Voice season 4 and at the time she was the youngest to win at 16! She’s an absolute powerhouse vocalist. A few songs I recommend are her newest single Runaways, Worth It, A Special Place and Break my heart again. Danielle is influenced by many types of music (country, pop, r&b, even a bit of rock and Latin music at times) some of her favourite artists are ( H.e.r., post Malone, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, Beyoncé & Shania Twain )

I think it the cameos of others (namely Tanya Tucker and Hank Williams Jr) shows the respect that she is given. They are both legends in country music and worth a reaction. To pick a starting point with each, I'd suggest "Two Sparrows In A Hurricane" by Tanya Tucker "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight" by Hank Williams Jr aka Bocephus She also makes passing refrence to George Strait, another country legend. With all of these singers they have many great songs. My suggestions are just a possible place to start with them. I think you've already done George if not, I'd suggest "The Chair" as one of his fun early songs.

One of my favorite songs of all time! Because city people don't understand that redneck is not an insult! I'm proud to be a redneck and so are my black friends! It came from farmers and ranchers and working people that had sun burned necks. And all races of people work outdoors in the country. Redneck just means you're country, not racist!
