hey don't worry about it! it is hard to tell when you aren't sure about them from the get go, especially since the videography keeps cutting away to someone else quite quickly. Avi ( aaahvee) was the one with beenie on at the beginning and has a very clean cut beard and mustache. Tim in the older videos has long brown hair ( in the newer ones it's short w/ grey streaks). Tim can actually sing both lower & higher than Avi. However has taught Avi how to be able to get lower. Tim has a 5 octave range..If you want to see some of that range check out "Mayday"

This was the 2nd song I heard when I discovered Home Free last year. It is done in a reggae calypso beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim & Avi. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" (without Avi) Tim goes even lower & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. Also they mentioned that Tim is a true bass. And Adam once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.

Tim has the long hair, Avi is wearing the beanie and puts on the cowboy hat on the last note. Avi (Ah-vee) did the sudden subharmonic drop early in the song. Tim went up into his tenor ranger just after that and then did the big G1 low note at the end.

This was how I found Home Free, through this video. Sometimes shared it on Facebook, I ignored it but it kept popping up so eventually I clicked on it. That was over seven years ago, not long after this video was released. Funnily enough it's one of my least favourites of theirs. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, I love Avi and his voice, but I prefer the live-version from the Sing-Off. To take Avi in was a decision from their label at the time, one of Sony's sub labels, who thought it would get exposure to Home Free. It was the only thing they did to promote them. Both PTX and HF eventually left the label and went independent. HF has a long line of incredible collaborations with other artists, all amazing in their own right, including with Don McLean on his song American Pie. It was the second time ever he studio recorded his world famous hit and he chose to do it with Home Free. He also invited them to perform a part of it for the reveal of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this past summer. Someone nobody ever does, apparently, to invite another artist to they're reveal. Iconic, for sure! Whichever song you choose next will be perfect. They've got no bad songs! Thanks for another great reaction! 🥰🙏 Keep them coming! 💃😁

Thank you for reacting! I like this version however I prefer the The Sing Off live version so much more ! It's exceptional! On the Sing Off Home Free and Voice Play we're in the competition the same season. Voice Play was eliminated shortly before the finals. Home Free won! It was 2013 Season 4. Pentatonix competed the previous season and were the winners. All 3 groups became good friends and have worked together on quite a few projects. They admire and respect each other and there is no jealousy at all between them. All the members of the groups are very professional and keep a very good relationship with each other. You are doing great with your reactions! It takes time to learn all the guys and the different parts and abilities each of them can do. It will come together for you soon!

What's really impressive about that last dragon breath note of Tim's is not just how low it was but how long he sustained it. Avi is wearing the knit cap. Tim usually never wears hats. The tenor high notes was a very young Austin. He sang first in Man of Constant Sorrow. The guy in the cowboy hat is Adam's (beatboxer) brother Chris (he left the group about 2016). Around 2016 Chance took Chris' place in the group and it's been the same 5 guys ever since.

Avi was the first low bass though Tim started the song. The final note was Tim 100%. Cowboy hat was Chris Rupp, Adam Rupp's brother and cofounder. Avi is amazing but left Pentatonics due to the touring schedule I believe. Tim, however, is otherworldly and, at least, as good as Avi. They are friends and respect each other (along with Geoff from VoicePlay) Chris was the baritone for Home Free but has a nice low range as well (He has Amazing Grace on his own channel and surprised a lot of people). In this song, Tim and Avi play off each other and it makes for a unique bass line. When Chris left HF, they brought in Chance who was a bass singer for his previous group. I think he is fitting in the Baritone slot but easily covers the bass line when Tim sings higher parts. The way HF is structured right now is 5 tenors, 2 basses, and an awesome beat boxer, with only 5 members. Rather unique for any group.

Tim opened. Avi did the first "and the fire went wild" .... low, after "and I fell for you, like a child ... I fell into a ring of fire". At the end, Tim sings the lowest note and Avi proves it by singing "ba ba ba da da da" and putting his hat on .... smiling and giving the trophy to Tim. Tim has actually blown speakers and caused plaster to fall from a ceiling during a performance.

Avi (AAH-vee) is the fellow in the stocking cap, who took the first verse, and landed on the C2 low note. He was on loan from his regular group, Pentatonix. Yup, you're as confused as we all were...however that down and up comment was Avi. The intro was Tim opening, Avi had a line and Austin finished the intro...the final note is Tim's--you CA see Avi doing the bum da da bum at the when he puts his hat on. Yes, I think they can do anything...check out the live performance of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables (I believe it's called DAHM and BHH)... Austin did a lot of musical theatre on cruise ships and was working on getting rid of his Georgia accent--then he joined Home Free and let it fly. He also does a great job on Etta James At Last in the key she sang it; and one of my fave Austin songs is Neon Moon.

He was the one wearing the knit hat. He and Home Free are friends. They and other ‘a cappealla’ groups collaborate on other songs too. Try Folsom Prison Blues another Johnny Cash song. Avi and Tim are followed around the world because true basses are so rare. Most acappella groups have baritones who can sign down to bass not true basses. Avi (Ahhh vi) left Pentatonix and now is a singer-songwriter who has written alot of music that the younger bass singers are covering as fast as he puts it out. His latest original is "First Place I Go" out a couple of weeks ago. This was specifically arranged by Tim for the 2 of them to help sales of Homefree's first album after they won the Sing-Off. (Avi Kaplan had won the Sing-Off with his band Pentatonix 2 years earlier.) Behind the Scenes Ring of Fire video kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHfHn62toMh3lcU The Charismatic Voice just recently had an interview with Tim Foust where he talked about how the reggae beat was added into the arrangement on the Sing-Off.

It's okay. Being completely gobsmacked by Home Free (but in a good way) once or twice a week is good for the soul, I say! So many suggestions for them going back years and years. Do Adam Rupp Drum Solo (Then you can kind of absorb that freakish talent all at once for a minute) . All of them have their individual channels and solo projects even. "The Boondocks/Fishin in the The Dark Remix, Some Girls Do, (Sawyer Brown Cover), Mayday (Cam Cover), "Children Go Where I send Thee" "My Church" Just a few...welcome to the Home Free Rabbithole.

Avi has a beard and wears a knit cap. Tim has no beard and has long hair with no cap. Tim hit that last very low note. Avi just smiled and tipped his cowboy hat to Tim.

MrIncredIIble, Great Review!! I think Everyone mixed up Tim and Avi first time seeing this. Their Bass ability is just unnatural. But, You will soon how low, Tim can Go by watching more of them. This might be your favorite now... but just wait till the next one. No matter which one it is, chances are you will say the same thing. Try "How Great Thou Art" or "Helplessly Hoping". Looking forward to following your journey of discovery. Peace Brother!

Even if we all leave without a trace as time passes, I hope that your beautiful and precious video channel will never be forgotten and shine forever. Do you know who I fell in love with and loved? Thanks to watching your video, it revolves in my heart as if it were wrapped around me with beautiful and good energy. How did your channel have such a wonderful talent that is full of strange charms unique to your videos? You have the ability to make the moment wonderful and attractive. I think your video is a good video and a talented person. I sincerely hope that your channel, who has been working hard for your dream, develops into a very large channel, with a small gift. Thank you for taking the time to warm my heart because of your hard work and for making me feel comfortable. Your video I see under the early morning sky when the cold autumn wind blows is so beautiful and enchanting. By chance, as the algorithm introduced, I just looked down and suddenly the first picture caught my eye, so I looked up again and saw your video. Your video seems to be far away from the distance, but the video of you reflected in front of my phone right now seems to be staying with me... .It's so very nice....Your video really touches my heart very much. It is your video that I want to watch over and over again, even after watching it again and again. The scent of your video still lingers in the early morning cafe window while I am watching your video, so I play the guitar and play the harmonica. How much devotion and effort did you put in to impress me like this so that I can't break my heart that I keep watching over and over immersed in your wonderful and beautiful video?

This is a bass duel so to speak. Avi and Tim both have at least 5 octave ranges and both are Basso Profundo's They can both sing way up into the Tenor range There are three fairly well known A Capella groups who have or had great basses. Home Free, and their bass is Tim Faust. Pentatonix who had Avi for 6 years. Their current bass does not compare to Avi. VoicePlay has Geoff Castellucci who is a bass to be reckoned with, but I am a strong fan of Avi. Home Fries love Tim. Avi now has a solo career and writes most of his own music. He does mostly Americana Folk, Folk, Western and come country. HIs music is generally leaning toward healing. Here is a song of his that is not his "usual" sound but his fans love it. Avi is only in his mid 20s when this was filmed. Bass voices don't fully mature until about age 40. Tim just turned 40 this year.

My biggest complaint with this video is the camera work. Trying to shoot through smoke and flames makes it hard to see the singers, and that leads to the problem you and I had, not being able to see who is performing. This was the second song I had heard them sing (after getting hooked on them in Man Of Constant Sorrow), and I didn't know who was who until I read the comments. Other than that, this is a great song.

Trying to learn the HF singers by the part they sing is almost futile. All four can get below C2, which makes them basses. All four can go above C5, which makes them tenors. Adam Rupp's range is undefined because he sings so rarely.

I enjoyed that! Before this, I listened to a couple of Aurora songs. You ought to give her a listen sometime. She's Norwegian, but sings in English, usually. She's not like anything you've reacted-to -- really hits you in the feelings. "Runaway" is a good song to get an impression of her. Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJSaiYqNlKqbmJo
