A very kool reaction 😎! Yes, her choreography is always on point 💃🏾💎! I see 👁👁that you have reacted to Janet Jackson before: If, The Pleasure Principle, Alright, Black Cat, Love Will Never Do (Without You), Nasty, What Have You Done For Me Lately, Let's Wait Awhile, Anytime Any Place, I Get Lonely, Miss You Much, Control, When I Think Of You, What's It Gonna Be!?, That's The Way Love Goes, Got Til It's Gone, All For You, All For You- Live, Rhythm Nation, Rhythm Nation- Live, You Want This, Scream, Call On Me, Escapade, Son Of A Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You), Because Of Love, Runaway, Go Deep, Together Again Live @ AMA and Doesn't Really Matter. Rock With U was released as the second single from Janet Jackson's 2008 album: Discipline. It was written by Shaffer Smith, Jermaine Dupri and Eric Stamile. It was produced by Jermaine Dupri and Eric Stamile. The song reached #20 on the Dance Club chart. The music video was directed by Saam Farahmand and choreographed by Gil Duldulao. It premiered on Access Granted on March 5, 2008. Janet Jackson told newnownext.com about who she thought would love this track: "Honestly the song was created for the gay community. I kept stressing to Jermaine (Jermaine Dupri, Janet Jackson's boyfriend and head of Urban Music at Island records), 'I got to do something for the kids'. I had talked about it on the last album - and there was a song that I had, and it wasn't quite completed. And I talked about it to the papers, gay magazines, and it didn't wind up on the album with the cut-off date. I felt really badly about that. So he just handed me a CD and said: 'Here are 10 tracks for the kids; tell me which one you like the best.' I fell in love with 'Rock With U'". After the song was released, Janet Jackson was awarded the Vanguard Award at the 19th annual GLAAD Media Awards, honoring her contributions in promoting equal rights among the gay community. Janet Jackson performed the song on Good Morning America, which aired in February 2008 on ABC. During her 2008 Rock Witchu Tour 🏟, the song was performed by Janet Jackson right after her song: "All Nite (Don't Stop)". The song was also featured in the 2008 Tyler Perry movie 📽: The Family That Preys. Critical Reception 🗣: Andy Kellman of AllMusic named it "an irresistible, grade-A dancefloor track", calling it "swift and swooning". Nick Levine from Digital Spy called it "cosmic, sleek, catchy and bracingly modern", writing that "it wouldn't disgrace itself as a Kylie [Minogue] single". Dan Gennoe of Yahoo! Music was extremely positive, writing that the song marries Jackson's sweet and stomping side for a 1980s influenced song, which we called both genuinely exciting and "sounds 100 per cent like Janet Jackson". Ann Powers from the Los Angeles Times enjoyed the track, calling it "the gentlest time travel ever accomplished". Ann Powers also wrote: "Playing on memory and melancholia, Janet's 'Rock With U' is nowhere as great as the original, but as a bit of intimate meta-pop it's utterly poignant. Jackson has long been the bearer of her brother's secrets, and on this song she shows that she can still crave something other than sexual fulfillment. Something like innocence". Michael Arceneaux of PopMatters praised the track, calling it "a sensual gem" and "almost euphoric", effectively complimenting Jackson's "whispery delivery". Arceneaux added, "It's a digitized form of pop music Janet should look into for future recordings". She is a singer, songwriter, producer, actress, and dancer. She is noted for her innovative, socially conscious and sexually provocative records, as well as elaborate stage shows. Her sound and choreography became a catalyst in the growth of MTV, enabling her to rise to prominence while breaking gender and racial barriers in the process. Lyrical content which focused on social issues and lived experiences set her reputation as a role model for youth. In her early career, Janet Jackson credited her brothers Michael and Jermaine Jackson as musical influences. According to Rolling Stone and MTV, other artists she attributed as influences include the Ronettes, Dionne Warwick, Tammi Terrell, Diana Ross, Joni Mitchell, Chaka Khan, Lena Horne, Stevie Wonder, Teena Marie, Prince, Parliament-Funkadelic, Roger/Zapp and Tina Turner. The tenth and youngest child of the Jackson family, Janet Jackson made her debut at the MGM Grand. She starred in the variety television series The Jacksons in 1976 and went on to appear in other television shows throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including Good Times, Diff'rent Strokes and Fame. After signing a recording contract with A&M Records in 1982, she became a pop icon following the release of her third and fourth studio albums Control (1986) and Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989). Her collaborations with record producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis incorporated elements of rhythm and blues, funk, disco, rap, and industrial beats, which led to crossover success in popular music. ****CONTINUE BELOW****

In 1991, Janet Jackson signed the first of two record-breaking multimillion-dollar contracts with Virgin Records, establishing her as one of the highest-paid artists in the industry. Prior to her first studio project with Virgin, she appeared in her first of several lead film roles in Poetic Justice (1993). Her two studio albums which followed: Janet (1993) and The Velvet Rope (1997), saw her develop a public image as a sex symbol. These records, along with their promotional music videos and live performances in concert tours, branded Janet Jackson as one of the world's most erotic performers, garnering both criticism and praise. By the end of the 1990s, she was named by Billboard magazine as the second most successful recording artist of the decade in the United States after Mariah Carey. The release of her seventh studio album All for You in 2001 coincided with a celebration of her impact on the recording industry as the subject of the inaugural MTV Icon special. The backlash from the 2004 Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show controversy resulted in an industry blacklisting under the direction of Les Moonves, then-CEO of CBS Corporation. Janet Jackson subsequently experienced reduced radio airplay, televised promotion and sales figures from that point forward. After parting ways with Virgin Records, she released her tenth studio album: Discipline (2008), her first and only album with Island Records. In 2015, she partnered with BMG Rights Management to launch her own record label, Rhythm Nation and released her eleventh studio album Unbreakable the same year. Since then she has continued to release music as an independent artist. Janet Jackson has sold over 100 million records, making her one of the world's best-selling music artists. She has amassed an extensive catalog, with singles such as "Nasty", "Rhythm Nation", "That's The Way Love Goes", "Together Again" and "All For You"; she holds the record for the most consecutive top-ten entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart by a female artist with 18. She is also the only artist in the history of the chart to have seven commercial singles from one album (Rhythm Nation 1814) peak within the top five positions. In 2008, Billboard placed her number seven on its list of the Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists and in 2010 ranked her fifth among the "Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists Of The Past 25 Years". In December 2016, the magazine named her the second most successful dance club artist after Madonna. One of the world's most awarded artists, her accolades include five Grammy Awards, eleven Billboard Music Awards, eleven American Music Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and eight Guinness World Records entries. In 2019, she was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Janet Jackson is the only artist with three studio albums: Control (1986), Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989) and Janet (1993), with at least five Top 10 US singles each. Her album: Rhythm Nation 1814, landed a remarkable seven singles in the Hot 100 Top 5- a feat not even her brother Michael Jackson matched. Janet Jackson still performs her music live on stage in 2024.
