Corey Glover (vo) and Vernon Reid (gt) were the standouts in this band but all the members were excellent. Living Colour was really the first black metal band to make the scene in the 80's. Criminally under rated they got caught up in the time of the early 90's when the American music industry abandon rock as a mainstream genre overall. They tackled many controversial subjects in their music but were always able to present it in a way that made it acceptable and started conversations instead of confrontations.

Living Colour has so many influences. The drummer William Calhoun plays jazz, the guitarist Vernon Reid are a fusion of a lot of genres. The bass player Doug Wimbish are very Funky. The same goes for Muzz Skillings who he replaced. While vocalist Corey Glover has a punk like sound in his voice. Great band. On their follow up Stain are a great song called Flying. A story about jumping out the window and writing a song on the way down

The first two albums brought them to the world, of course, but STAIN?!?! TERRIFYINGLY GOOD! HARD, SHORT - yet still sprawling - SONGS. My favorite album.

What UK christmas tracks have you reacted to in the past? I know you have the usual set that the US have played year in year out. Well we have a few to. Maybe you could do Slade, Merry Christmas Everyone or Franky Goes To Hollywood, The Power Of Love. But I’m sure there’s a tone you’ve not heard of.
