The style of music varies from one track to the next on most Little Feat albums. This variance demonstrates their creativity and stellar musicianship. Back in the day, many music critics felt that Little Feat's lack of commercial success was due to the fact that their music did not fit neatly into one or two categories. Their music is wonderful. Thank you for your reaction/review.

Little Feat is such a fantastic band that's so totally overlooked. If you wanna hear their best stuff, you gotta look into their album Waiting For Columbus. Try checking out Fat Man in the Bathtub, Oh Atlanta and this song, Dixie Chicken, linked up with Tripe Face Boogie. One of the best bands of the seventies. Formed in Los Angeles by ex members of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention. Their live album, Waiting for Columbus, is top notch. The band was never the same after the death of Lowell George. The band reunited in the mid eighties, with the addition of Craig Fuller being the main songwriter and singer, but their sound was different.

Many folks think Little Feat are a Southern band, but their origins are really in Southern California. The only true Southerner in the group was Bassist Kenny Gradney, the rest were SoCal boys, and some SoCal girls on backing vocals. Little Feat are a vastly underrated group from the 70's through to today, they are still touring, but several members have passed since their real glory days. Founder and Lead Vocalist/Singer/Songwriter Lowell George, Guitarist/Vocalist Paul Barerre and Drummer Richie Hayward have left us, but Keyboardist/Vocalist Bill Payne, Conga Player/Vocalist Sam Clayton and Mr. Gradney are still going strong. Got to see them with Lowell back in the late 70's, and a bunch of times since without Mr. George, an always a GREAT show.. AMAZING.

First of all, let me say Little Feet are an amazing band. This song is about a beautiful southern belle that can charm the money out of any man's wallet. The proof is in the last line of this song when all the boys in the bar began to sing along. He wasn't the only guy who couldn't remember spending the money he put down. This particular beautiful southern belle knew exactly what she was doing, and it wasn't the first time she did it. I love this Little Feet song 11 out of 10.

Lowell George was a member of the Mothers of INvention, but got fired (stories vary about what truly happened, but FZ was notoriously anti-drugs). Zappa, however, thought Lowell George was talented & helped get him a recording contract with Warner Brothers. Little Feat was a reference from Mothers drummer Jimmy Carl Black about the size of Lowell's feet...lol. They are an amazing band and one the truly under the radar type of groups....just a gumbo of styles...they used to kill it live....**Lowell George produced the grateful dead's shakedown street album....

Most everyone only knows that live album and are clueless to their body of work or how good the studio versions are. Also Waiting On Columbus is not live.
