At 73 and 51 years of marriage. Two kids and two grand kids. Reminiscing can be heart breaking and heart warming simultaneously. It's hard to express those feelings. How can something make you feel warm and happy, but sad at the same time? They do it well here.

My husband passed away unexpectedly at 56 yo. I received the call on March 25, 2023 from his company. He was an overseas ontaractor. I remember the first time he kissed me; he asked for my permission to do so. I said, yes, of course, and when he leaned down, he was much taller than I, he bumped his head on a hanging plant. He muttered, said he was afraid he was going to do that, and then asked if he could try again. I said sure, and then he went quickly ended up kissing me beside my mouth, then said, "Danggit! I missed" or something along those lines. We laughed about that many times over the past 2 decades. May 26 would have been out 21st anniversary. God Bless and keep him.

We didn't want to have a 'traditional' first dance at our wedding because we don't like being the center of attention, so instead the DJ called all couples in the extended family to the dance floor and we all danced to this. Given that the extended family included many couples married over 25 years, up to my parents who had been married 63 years at that time, and we'd been together almost 14 years by then, it was a tribute to growing old together. This song always makes me smile.

That's cool. I'm always listening for potential "first wedding dance" songs which is weird since I'm a lifelong single person, was never much into dating or really looking for the man to spend a life with . . . Anyways, listening to this just now had me thinking this would be a good wedding dance song. But it's PERFECT for how you used it. Best wishes to all the happy couples!

its unreal how my generation took music in the 1970s and 80s for granted because we thought it would never end, so many bands and so many hits we all had a ball!. in the cars listening to 8 tracks then cassettes wondering if a tape would get chewed up in the player. Its great to see todays younger generation digging our music and picking up the vibs from different instruments. Good music can heal a community and lift your spirits like the 1975-85 era did.

I've been playing and recording since the 1980s. Back then, before digital recording there was tape. I recording to albums with a band on tape before there was digital. The last one they did have DAT (Digital Audio Tape) for mix down. The big difference is in the mixing. You had to dial everything in first so it sounds right. Then you had to adjust everything on the fly to make the master tape. If you blew it, you had start over. We'd be there at the mixing board as it's playing back and adjust the faders at the spots and the right amount. It's an art form. and FUN! By the way, the tape deck we recorded on that last time was a huge 3M machine with 2" wide tape. The studio we were recording in had recently bought the machine from a studio in Los Angeles and was the same tape deck that Michael Jackson's Thriller was recorded on.

It was a different time. I was poor then, poorer than some can imagine. Working in a coal mine, a farm, and yet the future seemed bright and open, with endless possibilities. I had no girl friend then, but that song taught me what I wanted with that girl I would eventually find. My travels took me to Peru, Mexico, finishing at the university, rising up in business and then that girl found me. We raised children and whenever that song comes on, she remembers how she wanted to find that boy in her youth in distant California and I wanted to find that girl in my youth indistant Virginia. The universe is a strange place that makes the world small enough for such a boy and girl to meet. My son just married a year ago. I wish the best for him. God does bless us

Here’s my love story….I met my wife in the 7th grade…it was 1986…I actually met her sister first in band…her sister HATED me….don’t know why…i had long hair and they called me a freak…so anyway…i meet her younger sister…who i had NO CLUE they were sisters…and i thought…MAN she’s BEAUTIFUL!!…then i see them together…and her sister says…”Stay away from him! He’s a weirdo freak!”…so i noticed Wendy (My wife) was always on the honor roll….and would go to lunch early…so I studied my butt off to make honor roll and I finally did! I was so proud of myself and if you made the honor roll you were able to go to lunch early…so the teacher called my name IN DISBELIEF…and i was on my way to lunch early, to try and talk to Wendy…but i was stopped repeatedly in the hallways by other teachers I didn’t have for class….they knew my reputation…so they would stop me and question me, and ask to see my report card….well…i ended up being late for lunch and didn’t get to talk with her. Then I got transferred to another English class….and there she was…in that very class…and I started to talk to her…she was hesitant but i tried to be funny, and “cool” and I wasn’t what she expected…and I asked her…”Do you like Star Wars?”…and she said…”I LOVE Star Wars!”….and I said to myself…”Im going to marry this girl!”….sure enough…we ended up together later that year…all through high school…and we’re married with 3 teenage kids. We both loved this song…it reminds us of when we were young.

I love the Little River Band. One late night back in 1980 I was looking for something to watch on tv (antennae). I found a PBS program on Little River Band. The group was sitting around talking. They started talking about going to see Frank Sinatra! I thought If these long hair hippie men can openly say they are going to a Sinatra Concert, then so can I. I was 15 years old and saw Ole Blue Eyes is Back (my first concert) about the same time with my parents.

My parents met on a blind date. All my dad was told was that she had just lost weight and had a great personality! I love this song. It's my favorite Little River Band song. My dad was in the Air Force and my mom was a teacher. My dad happened to get stationed at richards-gebaur Air Force Base which has long been decommissioned but they still fly air shows out of there. Anyway, they allowed themselves to be set up on blind dates and the moment my mom walked out of the door my dad said that he was going to marry her to the other people in the car. That's what they did. She was about three years older than him and the love and affection and respect and friendship that they showed each other had a huge impact on me. My mom died and my dad remarried and things were never the same but I will always remember how much they loved and liked each other. I played this song for my dad and he loved it and he would talk about Mom.

Today is my oldest son's 37th birthday. I have been sitting around all day just thinking about that time. Back in the stone ages before they did ultrasounds for a noncomplicated pregnancy, all the clue they could give you about the baby's sex was the size and heartrate. So 9 months worth of telling me it was going to be a small girl, my husband and I prepared a nursery and picked out a girl's name - then out he came - this 8lb boy. I remember my husband and I just looking at him like huh?? He finally got a name, Ryan, and rocked his pink bassinet lol. He is the sweetest guy with a family and beautiful son of his own. This song was perfectly timed for me today. Thanks Jay and Amber!!

OMGosh! This song bring back some really heart felt memories. I was 19 at the time, ( I’m now 64!) and was going through the Jack in the Box drive through, when the guy in the car in front of me, literally got out of his car and walked over to me! It was a guy, that I had a huge crush on in High School! He graduated in ‘76, me in ‘77! He walked up to me and said “hi, how have you been!” I could barley utter a word out, when he asked, if would like to park while we eat and talk! (he was driving a convertible Trans Am!) He asked me to come sit in his car. I got in, and before I could say anything at all he said “ I want you to listen to this song, please” it was Reminiscing by The Little River Band! He said, “please listen to it carefully!” I did! And I was floored! I never knew how he felt! He on the other hand, knew I had this enormous crush on him! I think the whole school did!! We sat and ate and talked. Went on many dates and had the best of times. It lasted for a while, until 6 months into the relationship, I sadly found out he was separated, had a child and another on the way too! All this was revealed to me, by his wife!! I apologized to her, because I truly didn’t know & she could clearly see that didn’t. Never spoke to him again, much less saw him either. So, yes this song, has a lot of mixed emotions and feelings for me, to say the least! Oh well. “Ce la vie!” 😏 I still love the song though. 😊

It is wonderous how memory works, J remembers hollering at jogging Amber, Amber remembers every time she saw J's car. When I get into little tifs with the missus, this song reminds me of the value of our "Lifetime Plan" and why I am in love in the first place. I love that you finally found this LRB treasure.

This was from The Little River Band's 4th album from 1979. They sold 25 million records, and 13 of their songs made it to the Top 40. This song was their biggest and made it to Number 3. " Hurry Don't Be Late" a line in this song features their Hallmark harmonies. Graham Gobles was said to be the Brian Wilson influence of this band. Beautiful vocals, incredible horns and incredible lyrics make this a heart warming song of long, true love. Incredible. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦

I traveled to The other side of the world to find my true love. We use to go dancing in the park and took a cruise to Saint Petersburg on the Volga river. Traveled to wonderful cities on a train. We married and had two beautiful children. Listening to Little River Band brings back good times.

A little over 50 years ago, there was this really cute redhead sitting behind me in a college class. My back started itching and I couldn’t reach the spot so she reached up and scratched it for me. That was reason enough to get to know her. This November will be our 50th anniversary. Unlike Charlie Brown, I got to marry the little red headed girl❤. That is my “reminiscing.”

I totally believe Amber!! I first met my wife when she came into the camera/photofinishing store I worked at part time. She came in to talk to her sister, my colleague who worked in the lab while I was in sales up front. I was captivated instantly and when I saw her next a few weeks later asked her out and the rest is history. What I didn't find out until much later is the reason she came in to the store that day is because she had called earlier and when I answered it she thought I was rude! I suspect the store was probably busy when she called, but whatever the result was fine!!!

I've always loved how this song referenced "Glenn Miller's Band" and "Cole Porter's Tune ( Night and Day )". I was in High School in the 1970s but, I was a big fan of the music of the 1930s and 40s! This song brought it all together in a very nice way!

After Jay and Amber talk about how they met, when the music starts back up, you can see a big smile on Amber's face as she's REMINISCING about it.

Myyyy goodness! Love this song! It’s so chill and romantic. Their playing sounds so good, I get the sense they are really good musicians. Reminds me of Steely Dan. A lil jazzy. They mention “Night and Day” and Glenn Miller’s band, so they are jazz fans.

As a youngster I loved this song and imagined what it would be like to have a wife that I could reminisce with in my old age. A few years later, when I first moved away from home at 19, I met a woman that the men all swooned over, at a party my roommate threw. Within minutes of meeting her we were making out in the kitchen. It was a very good night, but then I didn't see her for a while. A little over a year later we crossed paths again, and once we did, we started dating for good. A couple of decades went by, with many great memories created, when we discovered a mutual love of this song. We knew in the future it would grow in meaning for us. Now, 36 years together, the last 7 married, we have made a lifetime of wonderful memories and feel the full depth of reminiscing over the years whenever we hear this song. And tonight we enjoyed your reaction to it, and reminisced a little more about how lucky we were to meet in that kitchen all those years ago.

You guys didn't discuss the lyrics enough. It's the most beautiful idea ever. A young person excited about building an entire life with somebody that he just met. Talking about how in the future they will look back and reminisce about some of these wonderful times. Me and my wife have been married for 25 years and this is our favorite song and we will have a couple of drinks late at night sometimes and listen to music and then we'll fire this up and dance and look into each other's eyes and celebrate the beautiful life.

I was in a long distance relationship. My girlfriend came to visit. It wasn't going well. She decided to take an early train back. At the station, when her train pulled in, instead of saying goodbye, I impulsively got on too. I rode with her for an hour. We talked. Then I got off and rode for another hour back home. We reconciled, and we've now been married for 32 years. We've got lots of memories.

I was aet up with my husband by my co worker who lived next door to him and always said what a sweet and handsome guy he was. She had me come over for dinner to her and her boyfriends house and brought me to his place (promising to stay with me) and then left us after 10 minutes!!! I was so nervous but it all worked out and we were married 2 years later! I lost him in 2019 but lots of great memories and s son that is your age!

My hubby and I married in 1989. While we were dating and I was away at school, he mailed me special Valentine surprises leading up to Valentines Day. About 10 years ago, he began again. I am now one of the older ladies where I work, I work with a lot of young married women. Every year, for about the last 10 years, he sneaks into my office and leaves goodies every day, not just for me but for the entire office. Everyone looks forward to this except for the hubbies who hear about it when their wives get home....lol. I get flowers and we all get candy, pastries, donuts etc. The kids we all work, benefit from it too. I am truly blessed...and spoiled.

Such a talented band loved them since I was a teenager, I don’t think they have a bad song ! I knew the first time I saw my husband we were juniors in high school 1979 , I saw him and I said I’m going to get him to ask me out . No judgement but back in my high school years we were aloud to smoke on campus,so one day between classes I ask him for a cigarette, he said he just had the one he was smoking, I said that’s alright we can share 😂😂 we started dating that year and got married in 1986 and we’re still together 💕( ps I stopped smoking twelve years ago) 🙋🏻‍♀️
