I looooove the fact that the crowd has enough respect to save *most of their cheers and claps until the end & also, 🤯 at the fact that Kevin is 1) Beatboxing with his mouth 2) Beating on his chest & 3) Stomping his feet TO THREE DIFFERENT BEATS AT THE SAME DAMN TIME!! 🤯🤯 (Oh yeah, & it was EPIC when you got 'Mitch Slapped' 😂)

I don’t see many react to the live version. Most do the video version. Then people who don’t know the group well think that the percussion/ sound fx that Kevin creates is enhanced, but seeing him do this in live, shows he is just that good! Mitch is the guy that sings after Kirstin. Great reaction!

Some will argue this is lip-synced, but I personally think that the reasons they cite could potentially be explained away in various ways... Hard to be totally sure, but yeah, if it is synced then throwing in a mistake was oddly elaborate... I dunno... Personally I'm leaning towards it being live and, from seeing other recordings, I'm pretty sure it's possible for them to do it live, even if this wasn't.
@larrywt656
@larrywt656 3 жыл бұрын
Actually it IS enhanced, even when they perform live. But it's only enhanced with amplification and reverb, no other audio effects.
@larrywt656
@larrywt656 3 жыл бұрын
@@KitsyX They do enough riffs and ad libs throughout this live version to make it obvious that they aren't lip-synching on this. And they have performed this song live on almost every one of their concerts since its release.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" would probably be the next most popular song they cover. They have an original song called, "Sing" that is really awesome. They recently came out with "The Wizard of Ahhs", which is the coolest thing I've ever seen in my 69 years of life. They cover the whole movie in a short, but amazing time, with up-to-date songs. They never stop blowing my mind. Oh, and their Daft Punk medley is also awesome. I really like your reaction:)

@@GlassesKingdom Any time a new reactor watches Hallelujah as their first reaction, when Mitch starts singing in his beautiful counter tenor, we get a "face". It's become a fun activity for all the Pentaholics to watch for the Mitch-face. Then, when they react to either the live version of the cover of Imogene Heap's "AHA", or "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" (from the Lion King), they get Mitch-slapped. It's a thing.

Since you're a Kirsten fan, you should check out "Amazing Grace," (her solo at the climax gives me goosebumps every time) and "Say Something," which she takes the lead on. It's surprisingly emotional. I also love her in "Dog Days are Over" from the Sing-off. It's not the solo in that, but her emotion coming through. Kills me.

Its always fun to hear the history behind the song and I also enjoy learning about techniques musicians use. This was the first PTX song I heard and I quickly followed it with Sound of Silence. I would suggest you wear headphones while listening to the songs - the sound quality is so much better then using your speakers. Be sure to wear them for Bohemiun Rhapsody as well as AHA! I struggle between this and Jeff Buckley’s cover but they just seem like 2 different songs. The depth of Pentatonix’s arrangement, the angst from Avi (bass), Kirstin’s power and Mitch’s angelic tone. Yeah it’s Pentatonix. I’m happy you reacted to the live version. I love the official video. It’s set in the Mojave desert and although it’s simple, it’s beautiful. Most people assume it’s not as good live. They’re not perfect so it’s not always exactly the same live but it’s always good. Scott is the one most likely to add a run or two when it’s live. ☮️💟
