Love this trio. They were an American folk group formed in 1961. They had a lot of great hits such as "Lemon Tree", "500 Miles", "If I Had A Hammer", "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?", "Leaving On A Jet Plane", "Day Is Done". They recorded quite a few of Bob Dylan's songs such as "Blowin' In The Wind", "The Times They Are a-Changin'", "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right", "When The Ship Comes In" etc.

This is a Gordon Lightfoot song. They did a great cover

Peter Paul and Mary released the song in 1965. Gordon Lightfoot released it in 1966. Gordon Lightfoot did write the song, but Peter Paul and Mary did not do a cover. For it to be a cover song the song has to be already released. Gordon Lightfoot literally did a cover to his own song.

I think the first version was released in 1965 by Ian And Sylvia, a Canadian husband and wife folk duo, and it reached no. 1 on the Canadian adult contemporary charts.

It's difficult to react to Gordon's stuff. His record label blocks most attempts. I've requested Gordon's "The Last Time I Saw Her" several times on other channels and the best they could do was a live performance with bad audio. Such a beautiful song deserves to be heard with the recorded arrangement.
