I was lucky to see Queen and Adam Lambert live a couple of years ago. I took my son and we were rocking with the music. When this song came on, I just couldn't help it but i was crying in the dark, hoping my son didn't notice. What a beautiful song

That's Brian May that does all the KILLER guitar solos and wrote many of the bands hits. He and freddie did this song together but there is a really sentimental video after Freddie's death where Brian uses a hologram of freddie and you can see all the emotion of how hard it is for the band mates to keep going without him. Love your reactions! Love that you're not afraid to like the romantic ballads too. And I don't mind your comments - anytime you hear a queens hit fir the first time - that's how everyone reacts - overcome with all the aspects of such amazing talent! When I want to hear the song - I play the song - when I want to see a reaction I want someone to express what they're thinking and feeling. Agree about live shows! Good for you to be self-aware enough to know love is easy to fumble and be prepared to work for it, cause if you don't- you WILL lose it!

Usually, the crowd sings much more of the song to Freddie but this show was put on specifically to be filmed. The film makers directed the crowd to stay in place and not get loud. This was a two night show and they also asked the band to dress the same each night so as to edit it into one watchable concert. Freddie did nothing of the sort and as you watch more performances from this show, you will see that nobody tells Freddie what to do! Also, please react to the studio version of this song. It's quite different and just as lovely.

You want to hear another one of his love songs, my favorite, listen to him sing You take my breath away in Hyde Park 1976. Every girl in the world (and some of the guys) wish he was singing that to them with the passion he sings it. You can feel it, which Freddie was very good at doing with all his songs. He could always make you feel what he was feeling.

I've been a Queen fan since they appeared in the early 1970s. I have their first five Lp,s. ( long player records ). I saw them at a very wet Cardiff Castle, ( Wales ) I think it was around 1976. They went from strength to strength. RIP. Freddie.

Now I'd love to see you react to Brian May's guitar hero, the legendary Rory Gallagher. " ...he was just a magician..." according to Brian. Try taking a listen to the 1979 Montreux performance of "Shin Kicker" to get a sample of Rory's stage craft. For a great example of his guitar work, take a listen to "Calling Card" from his 1977 Hammersmith Odeon gig. Thanks!

This performance is a special treat, so to speak. If you listen to Freddie & Brian’s exchange before the vocals, Freddie says “They don’t know it” and Brian replies reassuringly, “That’s alright.” The crowd was told by film production to “behave” so they’re not singing as loud to Freddie like the crowds do in the stadium concerts! I noticed one of the comments below recommended the Rock n Rio 1985 live version. Please do 🙏🏻 SUBBED 🎉🎉

There are 2 other versions of this song you should listen to The studio version (Brian - the guitar player - plays the harp) & Love Of My Life Rio '85 (the crowd of about 350,000 sing the entire 1st verse - Freddie doesn't sing a not until the 2nd verse.)
