@@romteni … Darren Hayes (on vocals) & Daniel Jones (guitar & keyboards) formed their group in Brisbane, Australia in 1993. Then again, I’d like to mention AC/DC. Even though most of their original lineup was from Scotland, they were discovered & launched here in Australia in the mid 70’s, so we very much claim them as Australia’s greatest & most successful musical exports 🤘😜🤘

Savage Garden! Love them. They were short lived, sadly. "To the moon and back", "The animal song" & "I want you" and "affirmation" are worthy of listening to. I'm country all the way, but there's always room in me for Savage Garden and Queen!!

For me, this song puts poetry in motion for the unconditional love I felt for my newborn son and daughter. This song came out just after they both started grade school and I had the whole house to myself for 8 hours of the day, yet realized that I missed them terribly. I remember telling them… I knew I loved you before I met you, I think I dreamed you into life. It still hits hard with joyful tears. I am truly, madly and deeply in love with my, oops I meant our kids (that I birthed 😉). 🫶🙌 Unconditional love is a gift sent from God above. My life would never be the same without them and I’m a better person because of them. Asia, BJ, I know you know what I’m talking about as parents. Now I gotta go text them That first line as a reminder; I know they smile back on their end when they read it. They know me 😂 and so does Savage Garden for giving me the perfect words.

This came out when I was in Jr High. We had something called Teen Center Friday nights at the YMCA. You could go downstairs and play basketball, get food and drinks OR you could go upstairs and dance, talk w friends, do whatever while a dj played. This was the big love song at the time. Was on the VH1 top 10 countdown every Friday for like 6 months.
@DeAnne1233 Жыл бұрын
We had a Teen Center at every military base we lived on and we were there every weekend; they had a jukebox and a big TV where mtv or vh1 was always on. There were pool tables, bumper ball, foos-ball, ping pong and arcade games but I went for the music and friends, from 6pm-midnight. Round and Round was played so often, it got an automatic eye roll from me when it came on but that never stopped me from bopping and lip singing along until the next song came on. 😂 We lived In background music, really awesome background music, that moved us.

I was a feared person in high school, not for being a bully but being a super nerd , I was the student people wanted to cheat off of but I also benched over 300lbs and beat up jocks and bullies and I had a softer side I never let anyone see, and that softer side enjoyed songs like and I was somewhat embarrassed by this , and the worst part was I couldn't ever find a date, because even though I never hurt a female or threatened one, they feared me as well just from my intimidating factor of being that person that defend one's who can't and I really think that if these women would have known about my softer side could have helped them not to have that stigma towards me , it still makes me sad that 4000 students were once afraid of me for being a protective person.

Savage Garden was a duo, not a boy band who has several number-one hits and won nearly a dozen awards just on their first album, many of their songs were number one or top ten or twenty worldwide and here in the United States for months and months on end to the point they set records for the top of the pop or top of the charts for hold the top spot for like 35 months straight. To The Moon and Back, Gunning Down Romance, I Knew I Loved You, Truly Madly Deeply, Crash and Burn, Break me Shake me, and Animal Song is all top-tier Savage Garden. Darren Hayes's solo career I highly recommend his amazing work. It is truly beautiful. Darren has such depth to his voice, such a unique voice, and a perfect falsetto. He is the gentleman with black hair who does all of the vocals. Daniel is the blonde who does the music. Darren should have blown up as a solo artist but studio bigwigs ruined his career due to his sexuality. Which leads to serious depression for him and his identity struggles. He is only just making big waves again this year and has come out of retirement with a huge splash.

We played it before I arrived at our wedding while my husband was waiting for me…we met at 14 and 15 and started dating at 16 and 17. We got married 25 and 26 years old we have been together 16 years. So we felt it was appropriate. And most people have truly madly deeply and we like to be different.

A fun fact about this song is that it wasn't going to be on the album however the studio felt the album did not contain a commercial number-one hit so Darren and Danile went back to the studio and wrote this song. Most of this album was written during Darren's divorce and his struggle with his sexuality.

Darren Hayes has released some genius less commercial solo material. He just toured, playing all the SG hits and with still one of the best and cleanest falsettos on the planet.
