She's South Korean. If you want Whitney, listen to her rendition of I Have Nothing or I Will Always Love You(from the tv show Begin Again Korea). She also has a couple Celine Dion covers. If you want to see her basically put the audience in tears, her song Fate(from 2012 show I Am Singer) is astonishing. BTW...Lurie shoulda fired Sirianni.

You guys definitely should try Sohyang's Misty. I know. She is good at belting and master of mixvoice. She has a really loud voice with a small body😂 But still I think she should release jazz albums, really. Sohyang will show us how beautiful her voice is with more subtle and laid-back genre. Definitely recommend.

Hi. First, it is unfortunate that that you didn't do a follow-up Search for 'English Subtitles'. It is out there. Valuable Tip: whenever preparing to do what may be a foreign language video, type or paste the video title in the KZbin Search bar and then type "English Subtitles" on the end - hit Search. Most times it will return the same video with subs. By the way, Sohyang is South Korean. For this performance, she wants you to know the message. This is Sohyang's personal masterpiece - she is happiest singing about Jesus. It is clear to anyone who knows about her, that her special talents are on display all over this performance. I truly believe she can be described in this way; God created a Supergirl with a voice given to only the Angels, and then He gave her that cape to prove it. When I say that, I'm not being disrespectful, it's just for fun and affection. If a person doesn't love everything about this elegant lady, they have no soul - but you already knew that . . . . . Thank you for reacting to this song. This is a song by a Korean legendary singer in the 60s and 70s, Yoon Bok Hee and Sohyang rearranged it and made a marathon. She said that this was the hardest song she ever sang and probably won't sing again in this version. The lyrics in Korean and English are not the same. Korean part says that I will comfort you when you are lonely... I am forever your brother, friend and song. The "Everyone" part is better translated "you all" in my opinion. During the acapella section when she speaks, she asks who would comfort her when she's lonely and she says, "you, all" to the audience. Looking forward to more of Sohyang reactions.

Thanks again for another awesome reaction to the PHENOMENAL So Hyang. I believe I've read this is an old South Korean song. So Hyang, her husband, and some assistants, arrange every aspect of her live performances; the music, backing vocals, staging, lighting, etc. In my opinion, So Hyang updates and elevates songs that she covers. Oftentimes, she makes the original sound like a demo.

We were so moved through our screens halfway around the world😮😅 And I agree with you re the language being no barrier to appreciation of the voice as another instrument. So Hyang has indicated this has been the most difficult ult song she has ever sung. She said sh3 had to figure out where to take a breath. This is the one and only time she has sung this song publicly. She didn't believe her health would permit her to sing it again.

One day she came to my church in the US for a concert where I was serving as a camera operator. I did not like her singing that much back then. She still could hit high notes but her singing was somewhat rough. As she grew older, her singing got much more mature. She delivered the message of lyrics better and started to connect with the audience better. I like her live performance starting in 2014. You know, I've watched this so many times and suddenly something struck me and i was wondering if anybody else felt the same.from the first time i saw it it always left me with the impression that as each phase of the song was completed that she had moved to different areas of the stage and it wasn't until recently that i realised that she never moved one inch from beginning to end,i don't know why i never saw this before its like some mad optical illusion.if you felt like this please let me know.
