Absolutely. Popular music today is really homogenous. In the 80's, you could turn on the radio and hear Michael Jackson, Huey Lewis and the News, Madonna, Prince, Duran Duran, Run DMC, Whitney Houston, Phil Collins, Van Halen, Beastie Boys, Simply Red and Bon Jovi over the course of a couple of hours. Tons of variety, inventive music -- today it all sounds mass produced.

This song is so epic. It is the battle cry of young adult angst in the 80's. I remember buying a brand new CD stereo system in the early 90's and this is the first song I played, at full blast, just to break it in. Classic.

Gen X felt this song so deeply. We were seeing all the injustice and hatred around us, in the world our grandparents and parent gave us, and we couldn't do more than just resist.
