You get perfection with these guys. First, they have the genetics as brothers to harmonize naturally as only siblings can do. You can't buy that! All three have different voices, Robin's soulful and plaintive with the most beautiful vibrato (named the best white soul voice of his generation), Barry's bluesy chest voice and Maurice's range and instinctive feel to create the perfect third harmony. All three could sing falsetto with ease (like the dueling falsettos at the end of this song). Although very different voices, when Barry and Robin sang together on lead they were almost indistinguishable from each other. Add to that, 90% of the songs were written by Barry and Robin together or by all three together including songs they wrote for other artists. Barry wrote the earliest songs when the twins were just kids but Robin started to write at @13 and Maurice later as well. They were the entire package. They honed their craft since the twins were 6 and big brother 9. They knew that was what they wanted to do with their lives. I personally adored Robin's voice, humor, amazing intellect and eccentricity. BTW, you have an amazing voice. You should be a TV or radio announcer. Your analyses are always cool, calm and collected! Cheers!

I know that you love it, 😆 because this is their stunning masterpiece from the 1975 main course album, with Barry, Robin and Maurice perfect high pitched falsetto harmonies duett and the amazing blended it in 16 audio tracks 😱 perfectly mixed by Karl Richardson & Legendary Arif Mardin. As Barry told: their instrumentally most complex and difficult song, but it is for sure one of their best jewels and the one and only Quincy Jones praised that tune, as the best soul tune, that he ever heard from a white band ever. Barry in an interview 1994: Impossible even for us to sing it live - one of the three forbidden songs in the music industry 😆

I NEVER tire of hearing "Fanny be Tender" - In fact, I literally wore out my 45 record (single) - which I'd purchased from The Record Bar - because I played the song excessively! The harmonies between Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb are exceptional - perfectly in sync. If you haven't heard "How Deep is Your Love" "Nights on Broadway" or "Jive Talkin" - you might put those on your list. I enjoy your reactions - there's something to be said for being a tad "understated"... you're authentic and that's refreshing!

Of the multitude of songs written by the BeeGees, this was reported to be their mother's absolute favorite... perhaps because each brother's voice is easily recognizable. Interesting fact: Mo suggested using a girl's name in the song to make it more relatable, so they decided on Fanny-the name of the lady who 'came with' the house they rented in Miami & who took care of them, their families, & the house. When the song was finished, they brought Fanny to the studio to hear the song & she was, understandably, amazed & flattered.

I'm just like you as far as the Bee Gees went. In my case, I heard them when they were on the radio for the first times. They never really stood out to me with "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart", for example, and though I probably liked everything I heard of theirs, I probably didn't hear them enough to piece together all the things they sang, but it was the early days. The song that cut it for me, that made me a fan, was this one, because not only was it much better than anything I had heard before, but the thing that really grabbed me is it showed their potential, and once they started singing like this, I wanted to hear all their music.

It's great to hear that the younger generation are realising what the music was like back from the 60s,70s and 80s. Bee Gees were originally from the UK and started performing so young when tgey emigrated to Australia. I've just subscribed to your channel so I don't know how much knowledge you have of this family trio. They were able to change the genre of music as it changed through the decades. I think I heard someone quote that there is always a Bee Gees song played on the radio around the world, every 22 seconds. They gave so much of themselves to perform and with Barry starting to writing music as early as when he was 8 years old, you can follow this band's history to when the twins Robin and Maurice and big brother Barry were still children when they became a regular on an Australian tv station. They decided to go back to their homeland, the UK to enhance their career. You can follow them from those days up until Barry retired after the loss of his younger 3 brothers. Such a tragedy as Barry and his older sister Lesley are alive. They were great artists and full of fun. They loved playing up each other so much they said if they hadn't made it in music, they would bea comedy act but how we would have missed out on so many fantastic songs. There is a documentary on KZbin you could find more on their start in the industry. They as a family had a lot to go through starting with the loss of their youngest brother, Andy I think it was in 1988. I know he was only 30 years old. I have so many favourites I can't pick one. I probably say Too Much Heaven which you have reacted to already. You can see them as teenagers in a song called 'Wine and Women. They had a number one hit here in the UK not long after returning back to England and re-invented themselves as style changed. You will find a whole category of their music to listen to. As a young girl, I loved My World and Run To Me which were in their early years back home but then came disco where they wrote most of the music to the film Saturday Night Fever. After that died down then they returned to the limelight again in the late 80s early 90s with songs like You Win Again and For Whom the Bell Tolls. Keep up the good work and sorry I could write a book about my favourite artist. These, Queen and LEO are my kind of music. Barry Gibb was knighted by HRH Elizabeth 2nd, The Queen for sevices to the music industry. :)
