I love The Cure, was a band I loved as a teenager and have very fond memories of people I used to know at the time, Rob Smith is not a conventional "heartthrob" but a heartthrob all the same, his voice is amazing. Great song choice too from them, can't wait! Thanks for the trip down memory lane guys ❤

The Cure's music video for their song "Lullaby" won a best video award-you should check that out. And Fascination Street, Inbetween Days and A Forest are great, too.

The Cure is a beautiful band. This song still just breaks my heart. This album Disintegration is a masterpiece. It’s desolate and sad and crushingly blue but it’s also tender thoughtful and serene. It’s truly like being lost in a storm and then the sun comes out at the end. It was actually a big hit when it came out and every single from the record was amazing(u already covered two of them) they have many great singles. One fun one to check out is Close to Me (closer mix). Eventually tho you may have to do Just Like Heaven as it’s a true classic and it’s just amazing and everything that’s great about the Cure. Like seriously you will freak the fuck out. Peace love you guys!

I saw them do the Disintegration album live at the Sydney Opera House just before Covid. Took my 18 year old son. It was loud, fabulous and such a treat to share it with my boy.

I agree with you on Disintegration but to me Kiss me kiss me kiss me was the height of angst before Wish showed a peaceful side.

Then again they are in their own league, most people love them or hate them and fans hate or love them depending on their output! To me markings of a GREAT band ! I can listen to Killing an Arab or Lovesong or To Wish Impossible Things and I'm always on board !

Generally, you don't play songs by The Cure at a wedding, heh. They are generally sad and introspective. They do have a few upbeat songs like Love Cats and Friday I'm In Love.

the disintigration album that this is from is realy their masterpiece...they made tons of great stuff...but as a whole that album is perfect...its a journey in whole and a treasure to listen to from beggining to end...fun thing is that singer robert smith had a long period of taking LSD writing the songs where he isolated himself putting em together.

I wonder why reactors choose this version of 'Pictures of you'. The guitar intro in the 8-minute-long version made me fall in love with the Cure. Anyway, this album Is mesmerizing, you should react to most of the songs of It, especially Lullaby, Fascination street and Prayers for rain.

Exactly, the song feels incomplete without the build up.

Definitely! I love the long intros on Cure songs. Most other bands I don’t, like let’s get to the vocals. But these intros are beautiful, bittersweet, emotional.

You're right. A "chill" song is definitely a good way to describe this one. The Cure's got a lot of really good other songs too! Some of their other popular ones were "Close to me", "Let's go to bed", "Hot Hot Hot" and "Lovecats" , all of those are really good tunes in my opinion.

Always loved their alternative/pop 80’s kind of sound! Seems like it could be part of a movie soundtrack from the 80’s.

Glad you started down The Cure rabbit hole. Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me has always been an outstanding album of theirs imho. They had several hits off of it (Why Can't I Be You, Catch, and Just Like Heaven). At points it's dark and desparate and during others it's almost uplifting...well, as uplifting as The Cure can be anyway. Lol. I'd love to see you react to Fight off the same album. One of my personal favorites

Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) inducted the Cure into the Rock N Roll Hall of fame snd said he didn’t believe the Hall of Fame was relevant until the Cure was in. Not a lot of big hits but so influential; from Korn, Deftones, Radiohead, Evanescence , Bjork, Muse. Now if they will induct the Sniths in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
