Osmonds were a family of nine kids, seven of them were performers. Donny (the youngest one in this video) had a pretty good solo career.

I'm 73 years old and have been a fan of the Osmonds since they first appeared on The Andy Williams Show. The 4 original singing Osmonds were Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Jay, later joined by Donny. Sister, Marie, and brother Jimmy, came later. They have been performing for over 50 years and play at least 20 instruments. They have 2 older brothers, Tom and Virl, who are hearing impaired and usually do not performer. However, you will find them doing so on any Osmond Family shows.

They were my favorite as i was growing up! My sisters and i used to play and sing along. The five you saw were Jay on the drums, Donny on keyboard, Alan, Wayne, and Merrill up front on guitars and singing lead

If you listen to their song " One bad apple" you will fully understand the comparison to the Jackson 5✌️

They were super talented and at the time there were of course comparisons with The Jackson 5. The song Crazy Horses was one of their original songs and Jay ( the drummer) took the lead on it. The Osmond Brothers started as a Barber Shop Quartet with 4 older brothers and they were singing at Disneyland when they were discovered by Andy Williams (Moon River) and was on his TV show every week. Donny joined them later when he was 5 or 6. Their sister Marie did an appearance later as well as did their youngest brother Jimmy. Marie and Jimmy had solo careers as did Donny. Donny and Marie paired up and had a TV variety show and a couple of hit records together as well. Marie and Donny are still performing. The other brothers are retired now.

Another song that Donny hit in the 90s was Soldier of Love. He was in his 20s. I was driving home from university when I listened to this song. "I know this voice." At the end, the song was revealed by Donny Osmond. It was rocky with a good message. I like songs that say something.

If you want to see some really synced dancing check out their song yo yo. Osmonds did more dancing than Jacksons. Osmonds have been on tv since 1962.

The Osmond were not in competition with the Jackson 5, the Osmond came out a good while before the Jacksons,, fact is they were friends after the J5 hit the market. The Osmond got their big start on Andy Williams show and the fire grew into a following even the Beatles talked about. They have a sister named Marie who had a smash hit on the Country chart with a song called Paper Roses. Oh let me give you a music rabbit hole your Lynyrd Skynyrd reaction was in truth a Travis Tritt where Skynyrd accompanied him. If your going to react to a live Skynyrd song do the Free Bird from Anaheim California 1977 concert, it was only a few months before Ronnie VanZant lead singer Steve Gaines and back up singer and Steve sister were killed in a plane crash. And No there were not a racist band just a Southern Rock band who used three lead quality guitarist on stage at the same time.
