Yes. The story is Toby's first label, Mercury Records (the one that released "Should've Been a Cowboy", "Who's That Man", "Wish I Didn't Know Now" and others) rejected it, so Toby signed to DreamWorks Records and released this song, where it became a 5 week #1 hit, so it was a big "F.U." to Mercury!

Yup, his studio didn't wanna release this. I think he bought it from them & Toby ended up starting his own studio production co. & never let anyone guide what he was gonna sing, ever again. I found your channel from this song (please pardon I'm on my fiancée account lmao), but when I was younger....my Mom...she was a country woman through&through...so even though I'm from outside NYC, I love this music. I'm a hip-hop and metal head, but I can't stray from all of these old songs. It's so cool to see someone react to it. You've gained a new subscriber out of me! :) This was beyond awesome to watch.
