Fun fact! Weird Al DOES NOT NEED permission to do these songs, but he asked to be polite. Its a shame when he makes a song better then the original that talked about possible rape. The OG song had topics of rape in it, Al made it all funny and took that element out of it. Be mad if you want but your wrong lol

The music video for "Tacky" debuted on July 14, 2014, as the first in an eight-video series. Produced by Nerdist Industries, the one-shot video mimics Williams' own style used in his video for "Happy": It features comedians, Aisha Tyler, Margaret Cho, Eric Stonestreet, Kristen Schaal and Jack Black with Weird Al Yankovic dressed in tacky clothes and dancing purposely poorly while lip-sync-hing to the song's lyrics about a person who brags on about his questionable style choices. The video was filmed at Palace Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, previously featured as Julianne Moore's apartment in the 1998 film The Big Lebowski. Yankovic specified that during each of the six continuous takes, he would have to rush down five flights of stairs while changing his outfit in order to appear in the beginning and end of the video.

You are correct, he had part of 2 days available, but not all of one day. That's also part of the reason it's one continuous shot, it was the fastest way they could do it as opposed to the normal sets, props, and multiple shots.

He starts outside the venue on the street and sings as he walks through the theater and comes in the theater and sings down the aisle through the crowd to the stage. Everybody goes nuts!!! It's the best entrance I've ever seen anyone make at a concert. He's followed by a camera man who films him until he enters the theater and we watched him on a big screen while his band plays on stage. Al is a creative genius!!! Al patched together a bunch of these entrances and made two videos of all the different states and cities where he did this. It's amazing to see.

In the mid-1800s when photography was a new thing, they used to take pictures of the deceased in different poses so they would have a remembrance of the person. Granted the selfie craze happening now probably isn't being done with the same respect that the original death pictures were.

Exposure times were extremely long back then. A dead person's nature of being stationary makes them a perfect subject matter because any movement would blur on the exposure. Dead people made lively images. It was the living that appeared as though they were ghosts.

I bet you'd recognise the 'bring me Shame' girl's voice. She seems to be in everything... but I first saw her in last man on Earth, funny miniseries.

The celebrities in this video are, from first to last: - Aisha Tyler. She's acted in shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, and Archer. She also had a guest role in Friends. - Margaret Cho. Probably best known for her stand-up routines, many of which can be found on HBO. - Eric Stonestreet. Starring main role in Modern Family during its entire run. - Kristen Schaal. One of my favourites, absolutely hilarious in Flight of the Conchords. - Jack Black. Well, you obviously know him and his career.

I'm glad you did this one; it's one of my favorites. The one time I got to see him perform live, he opened with this one and they did the long shot starting from his dressing room (which we could watch on a screen on stage) all the way out through the audience and onto the stage. It was amazing!

So for his Mandatory Fun Tour. He literally did a version of this video around the town and area leading up to and into the venue. For instance in Greenville, SC he walked around and then into The Peace Center with a camera man following him and passersby having no idea what was happening.

I appreciate that you immediately recognized that this was all in one take. The best part is that Al is at the beginning and also the end of the video-- in a different outfit. Very nice. :)

In a sense, this entire video was built around Jack Black. Al wanted Jack to be a part of it because he knew Jack would "kill it" with his performance. Jack was filming a movie at the time and had only one day free, so they scheduled the video shoot for that one day. The other stars were cast simply because Al went through his contacts list and hired the first four who were also available on that same day :)

A somewhat lesser-known Weird Al song I highly recommend checking out sometime is "Dog Eat Dog," which is one of his rarer overall band parodies, as opposed to a specific song parody -- it's a spoof of the general style and sound of Talking Heads. And it is BRILLIANT -- he seriously channels David Byrne perfectly.

The people in the video were Aisha Tyler best known for her voice as Lana Kane in Archer, Margaret Cho is a stand-up comedian who had her own T.V. show All-American Girl, Eric Stonestreet is best known for portraying Cameron Tucker in Modern Family, Kristen Schaal best known for her voice as Louise Belcher in Bob's Burgers, and lastly was Jack Black which you know.

...One of my fave things about this is that there's a quiet nod to the original music video that has several shots -- so they did this all in one shot. Which means that Al was SCRAMBLING to get to the bottom of the building as they were filming the rest of this STAR STUDDED CAST of comedians. XD. Such a legend.

I do on occasion take a picture of my food. I only send it to one person though: the person who taught me how to cook. We're both foodies and enjoy talking with each other about new restaurants we're trying or recipes we've made. I don't just put it out there on the internet for everyone though. I know no one else cares except us two.

When this song was still fairly new on his tours if you went to see him in concert this would be the opening song and he would actually open with it by there be a video screen on stage and suddenly you'd see him singing in his song and walking along and what it was was he would be somewhere some distance outside away from the venue walking towards the venue and the camera would follow him and he would sing the song until he got to the venue and you would see him walk through the backstage area and then eventually at the same time as you were still seeing him on the camera on the screen you would start to see him walking down through the audience towards the stage. He would wind up completing the song on stage.

I watched a few different of your weird al reaction videos. As you noted in one of these, there is a lot of little details, so one could watch them multiple times and not catch everything. Among those details, there is a lot of celebrities that you can miss if you aren't paying attention or aren't familiar with them. You noticed key and peele in white and nerdy, but Donny Osmond(dancing behind him) and Seth Green(by the action figures) were also in that video for example. So it was cool seeing you react to seeing jack black and realize there were probably other celebrities. This video has Aisha Tyler. Margaret Cho, Eric Stonestreet, Kristen Schaal & Jack Black

Amazed that he was able to get down to the ground floor, across the theater and out to the stage door entrance, all while changing his outfit - *including* his shoes - in just *TWO* minutes. And he had to do this several times.

Jack Black is a good friend to Al. Al asked him if would like to be in this music video Tacky. Jack was out in New York firming a t.v. show or movie, something like that and told Weird Al he could only do it on a certain day, that he had off from filming. Weird Al said great! They filmed this video on the one day that Jack had off. Jack flew back to California and filmed the Tacky video. He then got back on the plane and flew back to New York! What a great friend! True story!
