Salut Bisscute - one thing you will notice about AC/DC live is that everything revolves around Angus. The rhythm guitarist and bassist sing, move back to play, come forward to sing over and over. The drummer is in his own unit and when Angus does guitar then Brian moves off to the side. But omg they are so tight!! Consummate professionals and I still fondly remember seeing them - the blow up props are incredible along with the bell and cannon.

Fun Fact. The Highway to hell is in reference to Canning Highway in Fremantle Western Australia. My home City as well as Bon Scotts. Back in the 70s there was a section of the Highway that had over 20 pubs and clubs alongside it. This section of road was notorious for fighting, car accidents, shootings etc.
@kenchristie92142 жыл бұрын
The hell reference on Canning Highways pertains to one spot in particular - Death Valley. It is the intersection of Canning Hwy & Point Walter Rd/McKimmie St. It was Perth's most notorious black spot in the 60's and 70's. The combination of speeding drivers and patrons leaving the Leopold Hotel earned its name.

I saw AC/DC on the Highway to Hell tour and Bon Scott one of the best unique voices in Rock! Sorely missed! I saw AC/DC on Back in Black in 1980 and For Those About to Rock We Salute You in 1981. Brian Johnson was the perfect fit for AC/DC after Bon passed. Brian was a unique voice just like Bon’s voice was unique. Love them both!

I had the privilege of seeing AC/DC on the same tour as this concert, although I saw them in Orlando, Florida. They put on an incredible show. I have always appreciated how AC/DC brings so much energy and joy to their performances. You saw how Angus "played the crowd" in the lead up to this song, and Brian Johnson also brings so much personality to his performances. The interesting thing is that the bass player, rhythm guitarist, and drummer (while all great musicians) seemed to enjoy the role of background performers. They just lay down the beat and provided the musical platform for Angus's guitar fireworks and Brian's unique and powerful vocals.

The solo at the beginning was the last part of the previous song "Let There Be Rock". This was one of the better sounding shows since they were in their prime during this show. When you listen to the River Plate show they changed keys and Brian is having a little bit harder time hitting the same notes. There were 72,500 people at this show and River Plate had around 67,000 3 nights in a row.
