Hey Brong thanks for reacting to Blackpink, and welcome to the kpop rabbit hole. There's a lot of information to pass on about BP and even more about the kpop industry. You have spot on perceptions about Rose' and Jisoo's singing, how catchy the mv is, and turning on the closed captions (most new listeners need to be reminded to turn on the CC). BTW, BP is famous for NOT using CGI or Green Screen in most of their mv's. KTL is all practical effects. Almost every Blackpink mv has a "behind the scenes"/"making of" video that gives you and idea how they produce these mv's with only practical effects. The popularity of Blackpink and their music/mv's have withstood the passing of time. Since their last world tour ended in late 2023, all 4 members are pursuing their solo endeavors. They have however committed to a group world tour in 2025. Fans of Blackpink are called Blinks. There is an award-winning Netflix documentary about Blackpink, LIGHT UP THE SKY. I see Blackpink, I click. The girls are promoting their solo songs this year, each with their own respective labels. With YG they also have 2 or 3 songs each as soloists. I recommend that you react to Boombayah, Pink Venom and their live performances at Coachela 2019 and 2023. Their MVs are the best, they hardly use a green screen and the stages are real, that's why they have so many views. Also their songs are really original, you won't hear anything like it in world music. They also have very good ballads, although without MV.

Different stroke for different strokes - that's a GOOD thing, because it means a lot of choice, a lot of viewers and fans, and a win-win for all of us. As it is, less that 12 hours after you posted this, views are more than double your subscriber base, and well over a 10% thumbs-up feedback - i think you might be getting the idea... Most details you've seen, but i'd also point out that 99.99% of what you see it real - either built sets or location shots, witha VERY small amounts of post-production/greenscreen. Almost everything you see has a reason for being there and there are a LOT of in-jokes, easter eggs, and older pop-culture references - one of the best examples is DDU-DU DDU-DU (yes, that iis it's name) as it is FULL of all of those - if you have a friend into video production, film-making, or similar, get them to watch it, then watch it again while looking around the sets. As as you get more familiar with their work, you'll realise you've actually heard a lot of their stuff before. They're ALL have multiple agreements/contracts with many of THE major fashion houses. Oh, on that, you might like to check out Lisa's "Victoria Secrets" performances of two of her solo songs. They all have released very successful solo songs, and at least three have/had noteable TV roles - Jisoo several roles including the lead in the Korean drama "Snowdrop", Jennie has a prominent (supporting?) role in "The Idol", and Lisa's "White Lotus" is in post production. I think Rosé also has something coming up, but she'd been working hard on her album coming out next month.

You're right about all the beat switches... that's Kpop for you. It's part of what makes it great. Music perfectly fit for this ADD generation as well. 😆 DDU-DU DDU-DU(pronounced doodoo doodoo) next probably. There's a reason why it's their biggest m/v. Really all of their music and thus music videos are bangers so you can't go wrong. I'd just hold off on "Shut Down" until later as the m/v for that references a lot of their past m/vs, so it'd be nice for you to have a chance at recognizing the references.
