They cut off the part at the beginning where Elton John called in via zoom and said this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. He made James cry.

I am so NOT a Miley fan, but I will never deny her talent. And, good Lord, that RANGE!!! I can't sing as low as that... don't know many females who can. She does have a very unique contralto voice. I do, however, LOOOOOOOVE Metallica, so I very much appreciate this reaction video. :D

Hello Britt, please take one small technical advice - please try to level sound volume (it's called normalization) because you are so quiet and the video embedded is loud. Thank you, you are doing a great job. It's a pleasure to watch.

U really should react to the original with Metallica, this was beautiful in its own way but James Hetfield singing it just gives me goosebumps, he puts emphasis differently on the words so u know that the song has a different meaning to him and it is such a beautiful song, one of my favourite songs from my teens ❤

People have been sleeping on Miley (including me until a few years ago) without a clue how amazing she is. She's really grown into her own and nailing this song is validation. Shes one of this generations best vocalists. Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson are on my list, too. People sleep on them, as well. I can't forget Carrie Underwood. But that's 4 of this generations best vocalist.

People are not sleeping. It is just that Miley has been bathed in autotuned and lip syncing. When in raw form she totally has the Stevie Nicks thing going on. Just wish she would pursue that road a little more. Example- kzbin.infooQlPA_yP4qo kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3i8Zo1rbbWFg9U

Hey Britt! First of all, I love you so much and I am really enjoying this musical journey you are on. "Keep On Truckin'..." as the saying goes, and I know you will. I had not seen this particular performance until just now and I agree with everything you said about it, Miley is truly amazing! You mentioned loving James' guitar here, and you should know that it holds a very special place in his heart because it was custom made for him using old wood from the Garage the band started jamming in way back in the beginning. If you look at it more closely you can see it has a very rough, raw wood finish to it and still has pieces of nails in it! I also can't get enough of the inlays on the fretboard - stunningly beautiful artwork in and of itself. As always, Peace & Love from the great State of Georgia (Augusta area, to be more specific)...

I'm here from the Tom content. #HOG No cover, especially a song this iconic from a band as iconic as Metallica will ever be the same as the original. I won't say this was better and I certainly won't say this cover was worse, but what I will say is that I love Miley as an artist and she has such a powerful voice that communicates emotion so well that this cover may tug at some heart strings that the original may not. This was a great cover and I can't even imagine walking in her boots, especially in this moment, covering such an iconic song in the presence and with the talents of such an iconic band.

I gotta say, I've heard this before. Now I'm at the first verse of the song still. I have a lot of (metal head) friends who claim to absolutely hate this version with Miley Cyrus. I fucking love it. I have nothing to prove to anyone, I just think good music is good music. I dispise most pop music, and Miley Cyrus music, because it's easy trash for easy people. She KILLS it here. Absolutely awesome. Also like moth into flame with lady gaga. She should've joined a European metal band instead of going pop like she did. She has an amazing metal voice 🤘

One of the limitations of the environment when performing in studio live on radio is that you're basically playing to an empty room, so you see a lot of artists attack vocals they would usually belt out with a lot lower energy, and in some cases just flat weakly. I gotta give Miley Cyrus credit. She left nothing in the tank when she went up in this performance. Whether it's a packed stadium or an empty room, never hold back. I'm not a big fan of her or her music, but there's power in that voice.

It was always obvious to me that Miley has a great voice. She got a bad rap for years when she chose to loose her Disney character persona and went completely the other way with trying to convince everyone she was no longer Hanna Montana. Unfortunately that only made people not pay much attention to her talent. I started watching videos of her singing more rock songs years ago and that's when I saw the vocals I never knew she had come out. This girl can sing with the best of them. She mentions she did this without any gimmicks. That just shows her reputation was just that, all gimmick. If she were to be more true to what she can do with her talent within certain genres without all the hoopla, people other than her fans will see she's got it all. I was shocked at some of her singing when she went into the rock genre for a while.

Howard Stern has a reputation for being an asshole shock jock. And he was an asshole at times. But he always was an awesome interviewer for people he respected. He asked real questions and was genuinely curious. Getting older he became less of an asshole. But he kept that curiousity. And he was probably the best way to know artists.
