The original Star is Born was in 1937 starring Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland was in a 1954 remake, Barbra's was in 1976, and Gaga's was the most recent. Barbra starred with Kris Kristofferson, who is a well regarded songwriter, singer, and actor. He and Johnny Cash were friends among many other songwriters of their era.

Yes, that was a live rehearsal that, after just one take, was so perfect they decided to incorporate it in the movie as a scene. Barbra and Kris Kristofferson had great chemistry in this movie, and I think it's the best version of the four iterations, with the exception perhaps of the 1954 Judy Garland version. The 2018 Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper version was pretty much a remake of Barbra's 1976 version, which was a huge departure from the previous two versions. Check out the longer version of Barbra's duet with Donna Summer on "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)". I think you'll be blown away by Barbra's vocals in this.

Kris Kristofferson singer, songwriter. He’s written many famous songs including Sunday Morning Coming Down, Why Me Lord, and Bobbie McGee, recorded by Janice Joplin. He was part of The Highwaymen with Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings. You might know him from Blade Runner and the sequels. Also, there have been four versions of A Star Is Born, the first in 1937.

The original "A Star Is Born" produced by David O. Selznick, in 1937, starred Janet Gaynor as an aspiring Hollywood actress, and Fredric March as a fading movie star who helps launch her career. Available in full here on youtube by the way. I saw it a few days ago.😮 Some film historians believe that the marriage of Barbara Stanwyck and Frank Fay was the film's real-life inspiration. This version was made in 1976. I saw it at the cinema and cried so much, as most of the audience did. It boosted both Barbara and Chris Kristoffersons' careers. Loved it. Loved the latest but out of the 3 I loved this one the best. ❤ As for Barbara "running the show" that was the whole point of the movie which they portrayed beautifully here in this scene.

This song/scene is from the movie, "A Star Is Born" this is the 3rd. remake of the movie. The original movie was made in 1939, then a remake in 1957. Then this Streisand/Kris Kristofferson version. ( Kris is a musician, song writer, country singer and actor). Just a few yrs. ago Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper made the 4th version. I have seen all 4 versions and Streisand's is the best, overall. Lady Gaga is in the 3rd remake of A Star is born. This is the 2nd and the guy is Kris Kristopherson., a great country song writer and singer. "Sunday Morning Coming Down" is an iconic country song.

The Lady Gaga version in the 4th remake of A Star is Born. Barbra's was the 3rd and Judy Garland's was the 2nd. The 1st version wasn't a musical and was made back in the 1930s I believe. Must be a popular storyline 🤷🏽‍♀️

If you want to see Barbara in a movie I highly recommend What's up Doc? also starring Ryan O"Neal it is hilarious with an epic car chase scene fantastic. Although this version of A Star is Born with Barbara and Kris Kristofferson is incredible 👍

The original ASIB was from 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March and even that film is somewhat similar to the 1932 film What Price Hollywood. The earlier film was directed by George Cukor who 22 years later would direct Judy Garland in the 1954 ASIB.

The original movie "A Star Is Born" hit the silver screen in 1937. This early Technicolor film starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. However, this movie was not a musical. The first musical movie of "A Star Is Born" was the 1954 film starring Judy Garland and James Mason. The second musical movie of "A Star Is Born" was the 1976 film starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The third musical movie of "A Star Is Born" was the 2018 film starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Since the 1954 version was the first musical version, that makes James Mason and Judy Garland the "Original Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga." Except for Shallow from the Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga version of A Star Is Born I think the the best music was from the 1976 version of A Star Is Born with Barbara Streisand. The 1937 version was not about a singer, she was an actress so there was no music. In the 1954 version with Judy Garland I think she gave the best performance. I actually like the actor Fredric March the best from the 1937 movie. The 2018 movie won the most awards. All four versions were exceptional but for different reasons. That is kinda of unusual for remakes.

Barbra wrote this song - it was her first. She won an Oscar for it. And a Grammy. The scene is from the movie yes - the version with Kris Kristofferson - he plays a musician in decline - so his part is intentionally off key.
