Looks like yt has it in for my comments again. I'll try one more time. Welcome back. You actually reacted to 'Metali' (featuring Tom Morello) and 'RATATATA' their collaboration with Electric Callboy, so you do know there is a lot more to BABYMETAL than 'Gimme Chocolate' (which is great fun at live shows, but they have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last - and only one of them is 'Gimme Chocolate'). I left you a lengthy comment when you reacted to 'Metali' explaining some stuff about them. I won't repeat it all. The Kami Band members names you read were from the Kami Band East (some of Japan's finest musicians, all of them world class). This video featured the Kami Band West - American musicians ... guitars Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio, Clint Tustin on bass and Anthony Barone on drums.

Hell yeah man, ‘bout time you did more Babymetal! 😂 I love Kagerou. To me, it’s one of the first times you can truly feel that Babymetal has grown up. No longer the “child-like” adorableness, but a bad-ass young adult attitude reflective of their age. Kami Band West were added in 2019 to assist Babymetal’s increased touring. They became Babymetal’s sole backing band as of Apr 2023. Chris Kelly: Guitar (1st Solo) CJ Masciantonio: Guitar (2nd Solo) Clint Tustin: Bass Anthony Barone: Drums PS: It is pronounced Ka-geh-ro (not Ka-jeh-ro) -> See 5:53, Su-metal sings sings it in the lyrics. 🤘🦊

BabyMetal is not in the line of any other band or group around, they created their own genre called kawaii metal and they're nothing like you've ever seen before. Welcome to the Foxhole or just another way to say BabyMetal's journey.🦊🤘🔥

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。"Kagerou" is a word having 4 syllables like Ka-ge-ro-u [kɑ・gé・ro・ʊ]. Solos by Kami Band have a hefty, sinister and undulating sound that fit this song. I appreciate their devoted support to our queens like knights by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint in this video ( Another bassist Ryan is great. too). Su-Metal is singing about jealousy against someone using a metaphor of heat haze, "Kagerou". The hash emotion is shimmering from her inner blaze, and it seems to me that her emotion will not erupt but turn into magma deep down. It's scary😱 . This is the song featuring BM's heavy, dark and sultry side. The girls have grown up into matured ladies without doubt.

Good one, thanks! As mentioned, the solos were provided by the western set of the Kami Band (well, it's actually the current set of the band since the latest performance of the eastern musicians was in January 2023). They are (in order of the solos): Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio (guitars), Clint Tustin (bass) and Anthony Barone (drums). The song (the studio version) went initially under my radar (not much a hard rock fan and I was new to BABYMETAL back in late 2019) but then, I listened to this live version and the intro got my attention, specially the drums section and that blastbeat in particular with Barone using his personal signature technique, the gravity blast. The song represents the more adult side of BABYMETAL both for the choreography and for the lyrics with a theme that is not usual for them: jealousy. The live performance speaks for itself. Legend Metal Galaxy (day 2) is one of my favorite concerts for many and diverse reasons. 🤘🦊

Great job with this reaction. Couldn't really see the video (copyright y'know). But this was Sumetal and Moametal with one of the Avengers in the third-Yui spot (dancing no singing). And yeah you named members of the OG Kami Band. This featured the Kami Band West all North American musicians. And they totally kicked ass. Babymetal through their whole career have always represented a wonderfully unique musical presentation.

Great reaction. BABYMETAL is unique, to try it is to adopt it. ✨🦊🤘

Babymetal is all grown up now. In fact, this is perhaps their most adult song dealing w/ the phases of a relationship coming apart. We see what could possibly be termed as sensual dance moves, something never seen in any other BM performances. Kagerou has a double meaning in Japanese, heat/haze and Mayfly. So like Babymetal, who in their Zen way, layers in meanings that are open to the interpretation of the listener. From Dusk Til Dawn (Budokan 2021) is another masterpiece. Western Kami Band here.
@ralfklonowski3740Ай бұрын
Agreed! They offer the song and watch what the audience make of it. In a way, the songs get a final touch by the listener. To a pretty extreme extent this happened to Monochrome, Shine and Starlight. From Dusk til Dawn takes this even further by not even offering official lyrics. While this basically happens with every song ever sung, Babymetal is one of the few bands that actively embraces this process.

This song is different. It was their first hard rock song, and the first to sound a bit 'mature'?. It was written by Yuyoyuppe who also wrote Rondo of Nightmare, From Dusk till Dawn, Karate, and Monochrome (he has written and arranged 7 so far). When you add Su's voice to a Yuyoyuppe song you get expotential energy. I do plug Yuyoyuppe a lot, but i'm probably his no.1 supporter lol. Just take a peak at my curated playlists on my homepage (I have no videos, so i'm not after traffic) His music is fantastic, and it's the closest thing to what Babymetal fans are looking for when they inevitably search for other bands that sound similar to Babymetal to get an extra fix, but can't find them. A good thing to know is that all the composers who write for Babymetal push themselves beyond normal levels when writing for them. These aren't just artists taking commisions, they are an integral part of team Babymetal. They know Su needs high quality, bespoke material, so they deliver it. Which is why i like to help give them more recognition.

Key Kobayashi (Kobametal) the producer built Babymetal around the talents of Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal). If you want tribal you should check out their song, “ In the name of”. One of their newer songs is, “Metali”. ( featuring Tom Morello).👊🏽⚡️🤘🏾🦊

a great idea for you and your channel is to watch " The Not So Extensive Guide To BABYMETAL" unless you have already seen it, then of course disregard this comment, but for a song recommendation, I highly suggest "From Dusk Till Dawn" Live at Budokan 2021, for an out of this world experience and an epic dubstep-metal breakdown. oh btw great reaction John-Metal.

Babymetal are the OG when it comes to the juxtaposition of JPop and metal. They kicked off the wave of other bands which are gaining traction, but Babymetal started it in 2010. Saki ex of Nemophila says Babymetal is on a different level than all the other bands.

The “I was not expecting this” and “WTF did I just watch” are the typical reactions among first-time BABYMETAL viewers. A lot of their songs tend to get that - even after you watch a few of them! Anyway . . . . You’ve opened a can of worms! BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around since 2010, and started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer. BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums with over fifty songs, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of recommended songs (with links to suggested versions). The first sixteen are from what I've come to call "The Golden Age of BABYMETAL" (better known as "The Yui Era"). This list also includes all four songs of the BABYMETAL sub-group Black BABYMETAL (just Yui and Moa while Su is taking a break): Doki Doki Morning (official music video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZrVmYRunrGXmNksi=k84SUx4P01t9M5ic Iine! If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . . Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest: "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" kzbin.info/aero/PLdBAj9hZ91wCao72oSqTMLrGpIDOqzR2Q and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014) kzbin.info/aero/PLdBAj9hZ91wBwsBfjsKH9zWxA5YOOUkSI Both concerts are, in a word, incredible. Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!) Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!) KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

MorganCheapman in your live stream chat was wrong about the sing title pronunciation. The 'g' in Japanese is a hard 'g', not a soft 'g' (or 'j' sound).
