it is hard for anyone to have a favourite Maiden song. when each of their songs tells a different story. you have "The Trooper" which is about the Charge of the Light Brigade. "Aces High" about the Battle of Britain. "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" which is based on the famous poem. "The Flight of Icarus" about the Greek Myth and many many more.

One of the best live performances i have ever witnessed, Bruce Dickinson is up there as one of the greatest frontmen of all time, the theatrics, the voice, the persona, stage presence, he has everything... This is one of my favourites!!! Saw them live in Western Australia last year.. The whole band were Awesome

Bruce was new to the band when this was recorded, his voice was astounding when he was at this stage in his career, one of the greatest songs ever written, 42 years later and it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, fabulous!!

This is my favorite song by Iron Maiden and also one of my favorite songs ever. I've been a fan for 40 years and I was finally able to see them back in November for the first time. They are in their 60's and 70's now but still rock just as hard as they did back in 1982 when this was recorded ✌

One of my favourite singers of all time! As for favourite songs by Maiden, this one probably tops my list, along with "22 Acacia Avenue" which I think is a little bit on the proggy side and the second in a series of songs that tell the tragic tale of "Charlotte the Harlot". However, they have released many other really, _really_ good songs. To mention some, "Children of the Damned", "2 Minutes to Midnight", and "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", which again is a bit on the proggy side. Thanks for checking out this iconic band!

It was about damn time to witness their greatness girl. Now you have lots of hours of material... If you liked that song, they have written more than 30 songs of same quality! This is why they are the greatest band of all times in many peoples opinion. I have heard this song in many versions and over 200 times in total and I am still getting chills. Imagine that... I'm 48 and have experienced and loved Maiden since I was 14! You should also check out "Fear of the Dark" from Rio which many holds to be the best live rock/metal performance of all time. Even though I wasn't there, I can feel it from the footage 🙂

Hi Emma, excellent reaction as always, Iron Maiden are an important part of my childhood. My cousin who was a teenager at the time loved them, and had the posters of their album covers all over his wall! Another song from back then, though less Heavy Rock, more New Wave, Working With Fire And Steel by China Crisis, could be an idea for a future video, with it's driving bassline. I've just heard it for the first time in a while today.

It’s always been Iron Maiden. Yet what is also a pioneer band of rock whose creativity has no boundaries is that of Thin Lizzy. Play a live version of most songs but for “Dancing in the Moonlight” or “Romeo and the Lonely Girl”. Cold Sweat and The Cowboy Song are great live from The Regal Theater or the ‘78 Sydney Opera House.

Everyone online wished that man a happy birthday to get an image of how big of a deal these people are. I mean many bands are but there is a real devotion here like the kind of thing Taylor Swift has that only comes from earning your fans respect. Else...that voice. THAT VOICE! Glad you picked this version too. I haven't heard a live cut of this I did not love but there is something about this young version performance. One of those things where we are also watching and hearing history made and change. People heard this back then and the future was set.

For me, this is easily in my Top 5 live performances on video. Besides the amazing vocals and technical proficiency with the instruments, this is showmanship at its best! Thanks for the great analysis! You need to check out the much more recent live version of this from Toronto to see how Bruce's voice was aging (I think it was better in 2008 IMO).

Naming a Favorite Maiden song is kinda impossible for lots off Maiden fans. Because they never were a singles band. They make records. And sometimes a song gets radio airplay because it was released as a single. For me The best albums are thier live albums. Cant go wrong with Beast over Hammersmith. (1982) live after death (1985) Maiden england ( Recorded in 1988 but only fully released in 2013) Live at donington (1992) Rock in Rio (2002).
