That was pure art!!! I've never seen this video before and I know Pulp well. Jarvis Cocker was a great frontman, but I always thought he was more a poet, a social commentator, and so much more than a singer. This song is almost Bowie-esque in its grandeur. The video was almost an old Bond film in its visuals. Very cool!!!

Out of the entire Brit Pop melange, Pulp is the band that has had the greatest and longest impact. Pure class wins every time.

I have a feeling this was the band giving the Bond producers the middle finger, as they had been brought in last minute to record for one of the films, I think it was Die Another Day, but they went with Madonna instead, because this track sounds like it's straight out of a 007 movie!

Almost, but not quite. Pulp made tomorrow never dies. Sheryl crows take was chosen for the bond movie, so pulp renamed theirs tomorrow never lies. It was released as a b side on either help the aged or party hard.

@@kevinho0681 Thanks for the assist, couldn't remember for certain which film it was for. Guess it's just too easy to think that it had to be the idiots behind Die Another Day, as it is easily, one of, if not the absolute worst movie in the franchise, with an equally terrible theme song.

"This Is Hardcore" is easily (IMO) a Top-5 album of the 90s and only few have even heard of it.
