First Time Shooting with Revue ML (Praktica MTL 5)! :-)

I recently bought the Revue ML to replace my Praktica MTL 3 which I later figured out that Revue is the East German version of the Praktica MTL 5. So I thought it would be interesting to share this first time shooting experience with you all and I hope you can enjoy as well as gain something from this video! :-)

Hello, thanks for a video) Is it so hard to find a focus in MTL-5 viewfinder?

The camera isn’t so hard to manual focus, I think you can definitely get used to it but since it was my first time and I am from cameras that was newer and had clearer viewfinder, thus it was harder for me to just try to focus properly with this camera on the first try. its pretty easy mine is very bright and shows most of the actually photo unlike moste russian / estern german cameras like kievs or zenits

The west German version is the Praktica MTL 5). According to my understanding after researching about the companies is the Praktica was the Wester German counter part where the Revue is the East German part that had their manufacturing plant in Eastern Germany (with the main headquarter and factory in Dresden). If you look underneath the cameras from both Revue and Praktica, you will also see that the Revue cameras were manufactured in the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) and the Federal Republic of Germany (though some of the cameras will just say Made in Germany) which was West Germany. This is my understanding though which I understand that I of course can be wrong. Thank you very much for watching though as well as for commenting. @@DavidCuhls ​ The Praktica was manufactured by Pentacon in Dresden, the East German company that makes these cameras. They were later rebranded by companies such as Foto Quelle (Revue, RevueFlex), Photo Porst (Porst), HANIMEX and a few other companies for export to other countries such as West Germany or other Western countries. For example, the Praktica MTL 5 was mostly exported as the Revue ML, while the Praktica LTL was exported as the Porst Reflex CX6. Although they had different names, they were still the same East German Pentacon cameras, except for the color of some models. But there were also many other cameras from various companies not only from East Germany, which were renamed Revue, Revueflex and Porst. Some East German cameras such as the EXAKTA (manufactured by Ihagee in Dresden) were exported under their original name.
