It's definitely on my list! I opted for the 20$ one on Amazon to be a placeholder until more fun money comes into play

Good job bro. I have an Autopilot, so I know Old Towns are rugged, strong, and heavy. I spent my 1st season on a small 500 acre lake. Nine minutes is awesome!! 🌊 🛶 🎣

Thank you! I'm sure glad to have the pedal drive, but on those bigger lakes... I think about my choice not to get the AP a lot.

@@NWTrailSeries I actually just purchased mine in March 2023. I loved my PDL drive 120. I purchased a nice Harbor freight trailer. And it stays on the trailer in my garage. After I rinse it down. But any 120 Oldtown, is heavy. But I think they're best boats out there. Stay safe my friend. 🙏 🌊 🛶

Side imaging is amazing for a kayak to help find structure faster and eliminate dead water quicker. Helix 7 side imaging is worth every penny

Just looked that up... whoa, that would be so sick. I got a few things needed first, but honestly, I just may take your advice on that one. Thanks for the recommendation!

I'll be sticking to the docks this weekend. Minus the one where some crazy guy ran out and threatened us, probably gonna skip that dock 😀

We get it you missed your buddy Kody lol, also try using crank baits and top water for bass always have good luck with those!

We both got into fishing at the same time. I felt unfaithful, the guilt was obviously eating me up lol. Plus.. he was at work... On Tuesday we are trying some crank baits and top water for the first time. (Funny you should mention) any specific crankbaits you recommend? Figured we would get get an early start and try to have a little top water contest in the morning

Nice. I’m gonna do the same thing tomorrow. However, I don’t understand the reason for the water boots. That seems uncomfortable and heavy. A pair of river shoes is all you need
@NWTrailSeries Жыл бұрын
I did change to comfy shoes once I got out on the lake and avoided getting wet entirely. I got a bunch of lake sludge/scum in my river shoes last time I was out, and they just haven't ever smelled the same since. I'll try it out a few more times before giving too much more of an opinion, but so far, it feels like a pretty big upgrade.
@rogersmith8593Ай бұрын
Unless its cold water, I'd ditch the boots. Get a pair of lightweight water shoes.

@@NWTrailSeries I am a bit of a Luddite but once I figured out how to figure out where you were, it just confirmed my thought was, yeah, there’s a ramp around the corner. I live about 5 miles from there. I prefer bank fishing at PnP when it isn’t shoulder to shoulder

Isn't ther a fish finder app? For your phone.
@bensatterwhite569411 ай бұрын
Since you don’t have a depth Finder, it may be more productive to rig your bait Texas style. You can work your bait slower and not snag on the unknown grass and logs.
@NWTrailSeries6 ай бұрын
I'm gonna a look into that a lot this year my friend. Thanks for the advice!
@snooz64 Жыл бұрын
You don't need electronics, you need to learn how to fish topwater lures. Lot of spots here that scream for a plopper or a buzz bait.
@NWTrailSeries Жыл бұрын
I have added poppers to my arsenal, and am having great luck so far. Haven't tried a buzzbait yet though, ill add that too
@snooz64 Жыл бұрын
@@NWTrailSeries That's great, I wish you success with topwater fishing, it's so much fun. If you are lucky enough to find places rarely fished, try a small whopper plopper it's really a bass magnet.
