Clive could have photos of the current Doctor because the Doctor travels in time, so these could be in the future of the Doctor's personal timeline but in the past as far as the Earth's history.

Indeed. There is a theory that for the Doctor much time passed between him inviting Rose and coming back after she turned him down. For her it was a few seconds but he could have travelled to all the events shown in Clive's photos before returning. We saw she was not with him during those times.

The doctor left rose and appeared to return with “it also travels in time”. For her it was a second. For him it could have been 20 years.

It’s so impressive how many things you noticed that most reactors don’t. Rose’s reaction to the alien threat is so interesting. The writers did such a good job setting up a these ideas. I think if the writers heard some of your theories at the end, they would be very impressed. 👀

You are right. There were a few elements of this epsode which don't quite work - the belching bin and Rose not noticing Mickey was plastic, for example. TBF they were feeling their way with the revival. Such things become far fewer as the episodes pass and the writing becomes much tighter.

The ending: Rose's smiling, happy run to the TARDIS is the total opposite of Rose's life routine and redundant work in the department store. Just keep on watching and you'll get all the timey-wimey, wibbly-wobbly stuff. Cheers....

The TARDIS is supposed to be able to change so as to blend in to its environment but got stuck as a policebox in the very first episode back in 1963. In the classic series it was revealed that the Doctor had stolen the TARDIS from a repair shop on his home planet and there were a few things wrong with it. Of course the real reason for it being stuck as a policebox is that the shows budget in 1963 was very very small and they couldn't afford to be constantly building new exterior TARDIS sets.

There is a Blu-ray released which was series 1-4 upscaled to HD last year. There was a previous upscaled Blu-ray collection from 2013ish that also included series 5-7 but it was of a lower standard. I don't think the series 1-4 on BBC iPlayer or streaming anywhere else is HD until the specials and Series 5.

I love that you saw the inconsistency I found in him seeing himself as though he had just regenerated and was seeing himself the first time but at the same time had already had adventures on the Titanic and the assasination.

Depends on when those adventures took place and stuff like that, if it is before this story, or the theory that between when he left and came back at the end he spent time on adventures before coming back and trying to convince her again. I won't really spoil too many details in case he reads comments, but the novelization of a certain episode details that from the previous Doctor to this one, he smashed all the mirrors in the TARDIS, he didn't want to look at his new face.

I subscribed so fast. Can’t wait to share your journey through space and time. Murray Gold is the composer for the first 12 seasons. In the beginning he had very little budget and the music is almost all computer generated. Later he gets full orchestras to perform his scores. His work is masterful.

2:15 well; in the early 2000s the issue was that no regular HD tv broadcast meant that most people wouldn't waste money on HD tv sets; but not enough HD tv sets meant no market for regular HD tv broadcasts and stations wouldn't waste money on that; so yeah; better this than something like the infamous Buffy the vampire slayer "HD remake" which should not be called that

The 2005 revival was of an old BBC show that started in 1963. There's the 'Classic Who' in the old 30 minute serial format with cliffhangers, 1963-1989. TV movie attempted reboot in 1996 but back in 2005. Since 2005, its been 'New Who' in the hour-long format. Dr Who is the longest running SF show on TV in the world. Its just celebrated its 60th anniversary!.

10:36? The reason theres photos of him even though he just regenerated could be for a couple reasons, or even both, its not actually explained, more implied. But for 1. He traveled a bit before running into Rose, but never got a chance to look in the mirror, or...because hes a time traveler, he can go anywhere in time, including down his own timeline.. sort of. Meaning...those pics are more than likely from future events we just dont see. Though to be honest, when i think about it, the first is probably more likely. Hes never really without Rose with this face after now, and he is a bit ecentric, so not checking a mirror for weeks after regeneration wouldnt be out of the ordinary for him lol. He also basically just came from the war where he killed everyone, so could also be why he wasnt trying to seek a mirror out.

Unfortunately , similar to tvd, takes a while for the show to have good black rep/treat black characters n black actors better but it gets there eventually 🙏🏽(still has issues but slowly less bad)

There are some episodes in the first half of the season that aren't great, but it really picks up from episode 6 onwards so please stick with it. And beware of spoilers - I hope you have someone to moderate your comments!

It's not on HD because it wasn't filmed in HD it was filmed on SD (standard definition) originally it was filmed on tape but it was put through the digital process to make it look like film until 2009. HD was still in it's infancy at the time and didn't become fully available until the late 2000's. Christopher Eccleston is the ninth actor to play the Doctor the scene where the Doctor looks at the mirror and comments on his ears while it does hint he had recently regenerated from the previous Doctor it also could be he had this face for awhile but hadn't bothered to look at his new face into the mirror until that point when he's at Rose's flat. The Doctor is actually or classed as a-sexual he's not interested in trying to romance or have any sexual relationship with his companions he treats them no more than a friend he's beyond romance. The TARDIS was always a Police telephone box since the show began in 1963 it was supposed to land in different objects whereever it goes but the First Doctor (William Hartnell) and his granddaughter Susan one of the original companions landed in 1960's London, earth, the chamelion circuit broke and has since been stuck as a police box which became the iconic image of the show. As for Rose not recognising Mickey as plastic I think we overthink that as an audience I think it's done on purpose just to let us know it's evil Mickey so we as an audience could tell the difference between plastic and human Mickey but in Rose's case he looks normal to her or she could just be arrogant and simply not had noticed take what you will.

As a fan of the series and a consumer of reactions, I have to say this was the most pathetic and disrespectful "first time watch" I've ever seen. The guy studied the entire series, got all the spoilers, just to come here and act like he's super smart in the video. Find another show to feed your ego, your content is ridiculous.
