Nobody cares but since Ron is my favorite character I always have to shout out how one of his biggest and bravest moments were taken from him and given to Hermione. “If you want to kill Harry you’ll have to kill us too.” Is originally his line and it makes me upset every time cause these movies messes up his characterization so much

I just want to add that lupin really thought that Sirius was the one who betrayed Harry's parents. He thought his best friend had betrayed them for 12 years. And then harry says he saw peter on the map, and lupin, Sirius, and James made the map so he was sure it was correct. So he realized in that moment his best friend was innocent!

The Patronus appears in the form of your inner animal. Harry’s is a stag and he thought it was his dad because (this wasn’t in the film but is in the books) Lupin tells him that his dad transformed into a stag when they became Animagi as kids. Lupin (Moony) was a werewolf, so Sirius (Padfoot) became a dog, Peter (Wormtail) became a rat, and James (Prongs) became a stag so they could keep him company on the full moons without getting hurt. They were also the original makers of the map. Edit: An Animagus is a witch or wizard who can turn into an animal. McGonagall is one - she can turn into a cat (we see this in the first film).

@@armin1712 I said they have sibling energy bc they've been friends for so long, always bickered like siblings and basically grew up together and usually that means people are less likely to view each other sexually. J.K. Rowling probably just paired them up bc it was convenient to tie up their love interests as two of the three main characters and pairing Harry with Ron's sister was pretty unimaginative as well. Instead Rowling could've developed other pupils a bit more like Dean thomas for example and make him a potential love interest for Hermione and so on. Ron and Hermione never really had much chemistry tbh and even less in the movies. It feels like Aang and Katara in the Last Airbender, pairing up two opposite sex main characters just because even though it comes across as completely forced.

@@edithputhy4948 "as completely forced". to YOU, chemistry is extremely subjective, i suggest you consider that your opinion isn't the only one to exist, and it isn't the correct one either. crazy right that the term "bickering like an old married couple" exists too? and that's exactly how most of the fans see romione's bickering. they didn't "grow up" together, they were friends since 11 and that's just school friendship, a great foundation for a strong long lasting relationship. Where did you get the idea that childhood friends absolutely cannot end up together and only see eachother as siblings, when there's 8 billion people living on Earth, and that actually happens. Once again, they had romantic interest in eachother ever since the fourth book, they had the most developed and logical relationship, i don't know how you have to watch/read the series to not see the obvious and say they where paired up out of blue. ("Pair up two opposite sex characters that make no sense" you are literally out here suggesting dean/mione for no reason. what about we just leave her without a man then? or why not make her sapphic and let her end up with a woman??)

So there always has to be an additional explanaition of what was left out from the movie: Lupin was bitten by a werewolf at the age of five. So from that time on he would turn into a werewolve once a month. Therefore he believed he could never go to school. Until Dumbledor became headmaster and allowed him to go to hogwarts. He joined the same year James (Harrys vater), sirius and peter did. They became fast friends being all in Griffindor. However lupin didn't tell them what he was because he feared they would abandone him. Even though they were little trouble makers the were very smart and figured it out anyways. Instead of abandoning lupin the wanted to find a way to help him. So James and Sirius and later also peter became animagus (a year long and very difficult process - that was illegal because they never told anyone). The animagi form is always something very significant for their character. Sirius a little wild and reckless, but a puppy at heart turned into a very large dog. James a strong loyal but also proud friend turned into a stag, and peter....the traitor became a rat... SO now that they could turn into animals at will they could spend the full moon with lupin. Because the bite of a werewolve only changes a human. He can hurt animals but he could not make them werewolves while they were animals. As james and sirus were both large and strong animals they startet to become more daring and all four of them (while lupin was transformed into a werewolve) started to explore the castle and the grounds together. Because they spend so much time exploring they decided they needed to preserve some of the information they gathered and the together they created the marauders map. Lupin is moony (the moon you know), Padfoot is Sirius (a dogs paw), James is prongs and peter is wormtail (for the ratstail). SO the map harry has was actually made by his father and his friends. And that is why Harrys Patronus the spell you use the fight the dementors is also a stag. A Patronus spell done correctly also turns into an animal that is very symbolic of your character. James and Harry are so alike that his patronus was a stag just as his fathers.

Having other animals around made Remus feel more in control of himself while he was a werewolf so it was really beneficial for him and it meant that they were INCREDIBLY close friends so you can imagine how he must have felt when he realised that he’d spent 12 years hating one of his best friends just to find out that it was actually his OTHER best friend who was guilty, one of the biggest betrayals in history fr

😂 I love how confused by the "Reindeer" patronus situation you are. They really don't explain things very well in the movies sometimes. Everyone's patronus takes on the form of a different animal for each person.

Each person who can do the Patronus spell properly will have a unique Patronus form. Harry's is a stag because his father was an animagus - a wizard who could transform into an animal, like Sirius Black can, and the animal his father transformed into was always a stag.

It's never explained in the movie, but moony, wormtail, padfoot, and prongs are Lupin (werewolf), Pettigrew (rat), Sirius (dog), and James Potter (deer), it's why Harry thinks the Patronus was conjured by his father. A Patronus is a manifestation of your true self, and Harry's is his father's animal form

Explanation (WARNING, some of this is speculation as JKR didn't say much about the pre harry era.): When Remus was a kid he was bitten by a werewolf called Fenrir Greyback (future character) yet despite this, Dumbledore invited Remus to Hogwarts. The school let Remus transform during every full moon in the shrieking shack, and the whomping willow was planted as a counter measure so people wouldn't come across a transforming Remus. When the Marauders (a fan name given to young James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, as they made the Marauders map.) found out about Remus being a werewolf they became animagai (? spelling) aka the ability to become an animal (James Potter- Prongs- a Stag, Sirius Black- Padfoot- a black dog, Peter Pettigrew- Wormtail- a rat, Remus Lupin- Moony- a werewolf) in order to help Remus through his transformations. Full moons are very painful for Remus and his scars are from scratching himself due to being alone during transformation (before the Marauders found out). Also people say the Shrieking Shack is haunted, but it was just Remus bashing around as a werewolf. Also during their time at school Snape and the Marauders had a rivalry and one time Sirius told Snape to go to the Shrieking Shack, even though Remus was transforming that night. That caused Remus to accidentally attack Snape and James had to save him. Thats why Snape knew Remus was a werewolf and in one of the movies Dumbledore says "James saved his life" (something along those lines). ALSO Sirius was assigned the Potter families "Secret Keeper" (he'd be told everything that the Potters would do, where they'd stay during the war ect) but he felt he was not worthy of it so the title was given to Peter, who was actually a death eater. Peter gave all this information to Voldemort who wanted to kill Harry due to something thats a spoiler. (SPOILER!!: Voldemort read a prophecy!!!) :D also Harry's patronus is a Stag and his mother, Lily's, was a doe. A female deer. So they mesh together so cutely!!!

Small note, the secret keeper stuff wasn't because Sirius wasn't worthy, it was because he was the obvious choice as he was closer to James, Harry's godfather, etc. The plan was to be the decoy while Peter was the true keeper.

The patronus thingy: so in the book that white light-shield is a protection against dementors only (the face suckers) known as patronus charm. Now a patronus takes shape of different animals for different individuals. For harry it's a stag and same was for his father, James Potter. Basically it says that at times of danger, Harry sees his father in him. Aka even dead his parents are alive inside him.

Yay, I’ve been looking forward to this! In regards to the petronas charm, it takes the form of an animal. It can be anything from a cat to rabbit, stag etc. And your Petronas can change to the same as someone that you love, or have a connection with. Hence why Harry’s is the same as his dads. Fun fact- you can take a quiz online to find out what your Hogwarts house, Petronas and wand are 😊

I personally love this movie out of all the others. Mainly because Harry gained two amazing people in his life, Remus and Sirius. His dad’s two best friends; Harry learned how much others cared about him and his parents. If you push aside the dementors and the idea of Harry being hunted, this is quite honesty his most peaceful year at school compared to his other school years. Love your channel! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I started reading books of HP when I was 11, now I'm old and just lost all of this excitement for these stories especially after what Rowling said receintly about LGBTQ community. You brought it back with your excitement and thank u for that. The 3rd movie is absolutely my favourite.

Patronus has a certain form- of an animal- that will be explained in the 5th movie. Btw the new actor of Dumbledore said he wanted to create a totally different image of Dumbledore in memory of the original actor. The first actor was sweet and friendly. This actor wanted to make Dumbledore look mistic, darker, dangerous etc.

Dementors are attracted to bad memories. They go after Harry the most because they feel Harry sadness after all the background he has. In the books it is clear that Harry carry a sadness in him and the dementors love this, that's why the Patronum need a strong happy memorie to be conjured. And the "kiss" is when the dementor feeds enough and takes all the happiness from the person living only dispare, is like they make the darkness so big in the person, that all the light lives the person

soooo much fun watching you watch these!!! prisoner of azkaban is in my top 3 of the franchise, looove this movie and book!! i used to absolutely adore this series (watched/read a million times and even played quidditch in college) but it's been hard to enjoy lately bc i really do have a hard time separating the art from the artist... jk is such a p.o.s. 😭 buttttt i digress!!! i have forgotten what it was like to watch these movies for the first time, and seeing you experience the magic firsthand is just so fun and i enjoy your reactions overall anyway!!! man idk if this made sense but whatever i just said is full of love i promise

This always confused me too, but in watching this, I started wondering… we see how lenient they are with Harry in the Aunt Marge situation. Maybe they were similarly being lenient with him in the Lumos situation since they just wanted him to be safe and therefore were less concerned about him using minor magic?? But Harry wouldn’t’ve known that, so why would he use magic outside of school? I guess im still confused 😂 (maybe it’s the flashlight thing someone above said, but idk, seems like a weak reason made up after the movie goof)

In the book Harry wasn’t does magic, because he knows he can’t do magic outside of school and already got a warning the year before for something he didn’t do saying if he does magic ‘again’ he’ll be expelled. So Harry would not risk it for something like that, he was just doing an essay or something instead

Remus is a favourite of mine. The queer subtext of Sirius-Remus (two outsiders, both middle age bachelors friends since their school days, transforming/transfiguring into an other self, buying a joint gift for Harry - a god child, and you know... queerness=magic), and the werewolf condition as a deliberate metaphor for AIDs was very obvious upon first reading. It's a shame that every character with clear queer subtext is eventually made straight, aka queerbaiting. BTW, I love your reaction editing. Honestly, the best on KZbin!

This is still my favorite one. So much character was added to it (the shrunken head, the shots with the Whomping Willow). I just really enjoyed the feel of this movie. It’s also the first movie we really get to see the characters out of their Hogwarts robes and in every day attire, and even when in robes, main and side characters add flare to theirs- rolled up sleeves, loosened ties, etc. Even though there’s important exposition left out and I have several critiques throughout this movie, overall it wins in vibes for me.

This is my fave of all of them. I love the going back in time element to it. Also Harry and his godfather❤️ can watch this one over and over. When I read the book for the first time, the plot twist was amazing!!
