Something he proved to be true as he really has played him in EVERY iteration thus far. The two married and had 3 beautiful kids👶👶👶 that Hercules unintentionally killed along with his wife. To atone for his sin Hercules consulted the Oracle who told him he must complete 12 labours of heriosm.

My 2 favorite songs in the entire movie: "Go The Distance" "I Won't Say (I'm In Love)" And anytime the Muses are onscreen. Side note: In real Greek mythology, Hera is not the doting mother she's depicted as being in this movie. In real folklore, she was bitterly jealous and tried to kill Heracles (his Greek name. It was Romanized into Hercules). And Zeus was a notorious womanizer, not a devoted family man. I get they were going for kid-friendly and not mythology accurate, but it kind of bugs me knowing now that his real name is Heracles.

Hercules = Superman Mercury = The Flash Athena = Wonder Woman Poseidon = Aquaman Hades = Batman (Hades isn't evil like most portrayals but misunderstood because people fear death and he is the god of death) Aladdin = Green Lantern (the only one who isn't Greek Mythology that I know of)

I loveee this movie but the inaccuracies in it are SO crazy. Like Heracles is the son of Zeus and the mortal woman Alcmene. He had a twin brother Iphicles, who was totally mortal and had a different father while Heracles was a demigod. blah blah blah childhood lots of lore but he marries Megara, daughter of King Creon. After having 3 children with her, Hera sends him into a fit of madness, and he kills Megara and his kids. After his madness was cured, he realized what he had done and fled to the Oracle of Delphi. What he didn’t know was that the Oracle was guided by Hera. The Oracle directed him to serve King Eurystheus for ten years and perform any task Eurystheus gave him, and so he set off. Eurystheus decided to give him ten labors, but Eurystheus cheated him and added two more. These are known as the Twelve Trials/Labors of Heracles. If he succeeded these trials, he was to be purified of sin and would become an immortal god. I could get into the trials but I’ve written too much already. Heracles also went on a ton of other adventures, including becoming an Argonaut with Jason, killed a few Kings, et. al. His last adventure was after he defeated the river god Achelous (the big blue guy in the river in the movie) and saved his betrothed, Deianira, from having to marry him. (in some versions of Deianira’s story, she is rapes by Heracles, who promised to return to marry her. While he was gone, Eurytion the centaur appeared and demanded for her to marry him. Her father gave her over in fear, but before they could wed, Heracles returned and killed the centaur. Anyway:) While Heracles and Deianira travelled to Tiryns, they must cross a fast-flowing river. Heracles swims across, and Deianira is offered help by the centaur Nessus. However, while Heracles is still in the water, Nessus attempts to kidnap Deianira. Heracles then shoots him with Hydra poison-dipped arrows, and Nessus gives his blood-soaked tunic to Deianira as he dies, telling her that it will “excite the love of her husband” as revenge. Years later, rumors tells Deianira that someone else is attempting to woo Heracles. She remembered the words of Nessus and sends Heracles with the blood-soaked tunic. However, the tunic is Sal so still covered in Hydra blood from the arrows, poisoning him and tearing the skin from his body to expose his bones. Before he dies, he throws Lichas, who delivered the tunic to him, into the sea, believing that it was he who poisoned him. He then uproots several trees and builds himself a funeral pyre on Mt. Olympus. His friend Philoctetes (Phil in the movie) lights the pyre, and Heracles ascends to Olympus as he dies. As his body burns, only the immortal half of his body is untouched. (In some versions, the pyre is lit by Poeas or Iolaus). Now that Heracles has become a god in Olympus, he reconciled with Hera and was gifted her and Zeus’s godly daughter Hebe as his final wife. Anyway I love this movie

Just a little Greek myth tidbits The Titans were literally made by mother Earth, Gaea, Zeus grandmother i guess? and they oppose the greek gods because they killed her son, Kronos, who wouldve been the leader of the world if not for Zeus's birth which destined him to be the leader of them all ( Kronos and his brothers killed their father for Gaia, and Kronos ate his children, the greek gods, who zeus them freed by making kronos drink poison and yes they were all alive inside this man and grew up or whatever its something lmao) anyway the elemental Titans were nearly impossible to reign in without Poseidon and Zeus's help and Gaias on account of Zeus saying he would release her children from Tartarus (Hell) Zeus became the head of the gods essentially after that
@artthounasty587719 күн бұрын
It's not really that big of a surprise that the titans can go toe to toe with the gods, as six of the original greek gods were born of titans :) These gods are Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Demeter and most of the younger gods are their descendants.
