Over the years, next to positive this dude has become not only a fully qualified, but above average stuntman. The only reason he doesn't get fully labeled as such is because periodically either SAG or an insurance company go, "That's a hell of a blind. Not paying it. This guy over here's face and spine are far more expendable to me than yours."
@bikecaptain80152 жыл бұрын
This is a little bit of a rail, but hey. Got a lot of respect for Cruise too, for the same thing. But, it's different. Cruise couldn't be more loudly silently screaming, "There! See how I'm a good worker? Look at me. Look at me some more and then tell me how good I was." Keanu seems way less concerned about me and more about his colleagues. "When I close my eyes at night, I want to know I did my level best. I want to know I left it all on the floor, and I want to have shown respect to the people I work with, and who helped me make it happen... To be proud of this project and to have shown respect for what we all did together. That's good enough."

He stabbed himself in order to gain control of the knife. If you notice, he uses Vigo’s own momentum and he pulls the knife into the stitches from the cut he already had. It's hard to see in the film because it goes by so fast, but I think the tag on the dog's crate at the end indicates the dog will be put down, so John is actually giving the dog a second chance, rescuing a dog the way Daisy was rescuing him.
@NeckCS22 жыл бұрын
At the end of the movie John stabs himself for 3 reasons. 1: It catches Viggo off guard 2: It brings him in close so he can break his arm and 3: now JOHN has the knife. Very worthy sacrifice tbh Also, the dog he takes at the end was supposed to be euthanized (killed) in the morning. So he saves it.
@Blackout_2 жыл бұрын
Also he directs the knife into his prior wound minimalizing any damage he would have gotten if stabbed anywhere else
@mrnice812 жыл бұрын
Lackey: "What did he say?" Viggo: "Enough" Seb: "I wonder how many words John Wick says in this movie.." Obvious answer: "Enough" Also: he let Viggo stab him in a way he could predict. He directed the stab into the already existing wound, minimizing chance for additional damage. He gained leverage on Viggo's arm that way, making it possible to break/dislocate the elbow .. and by that get the knife himself. Viggo was no match for John in a fistfight, but Viggo probably didn't become who he was without breaking some bones and killing some people, so he was not to be underestimated.

Beating that out, though, is Soldier from 1998, where lead character Todd, played by Kurt Russel, speaks only 104 words, despite being on screen for approximately 85% of the film. Good movie, IMO, btw. Totally think you should react to it :D

It stars Bob Odenkirk from breaking bad/ better call Saul, and it’s similar to the plot of John wick but with a different take on it. It’s really good with some awesome action, and even some occasional comedy. The movie slaps!

Going to go a little deep into the lore of John Wick and the continental, basically everyone who goes to these special hotels are trained assassins and in this world there are multiple continental hotels scattered all over the world that specializes with these specific people and act as safe houses for assassins who are being hunted by other assassins because killing isn't allowed on Continental grounds, something John eventually breaks which causes him to be hunted down at the end of the second movie. The gold coins is the main currency used in this special world of assassins. If any of the laws made by the high table the leaders of the assassin world are violated then assassins would be excommunicadoed essentially having a large bounty placed on their heads, not being able to receive help from any services that are connected to the assassin world and if caught executed.

It wasn't just because Theon Greyjoy killed his dog. John Wick was highly respected & one of the most feared assassin in the underworld and then some punk broke into his house, assaulted him, and killed his dog. This kind of insult & humiliation were unforgivable in John Wick's dictionary.
@DoremiFasolatido19792 жыл бұрын
That really had comparatively little to do with it. And I'm not sure why people keep fixating on either that, or the dog explicitly. It's about his wife. The dog was just a proxy, a symbol. It was her final act of devotion and love for him. It was her dying wish in physical form...and she spent that wish on him. And it was the only bond with her that he had left. And they destroyed it. The car wouldn't have meant shit, the break-in wouldn't have meant shit. He'd have probably called up Vigo and told him, "Hey, your kid and his thugs assaulted me, fucked up my house, and stole my car. Take care of it." And Vigo would've, without hesitation. He'd have beat his kid like we saw him do, and then life would've gone on, for the most part. But they obliterated the only anchor he had left in the universe. The only thing remaining that gave his life some semblance of normalcy and hope. They didn't simply kill his dog. They symbolically killed his wife...again. That's what he was avenging.
