Fun Fact: Tarantino was a huge John Travolta fan, & the name of the truck, 'Pussy Wagon', is from the song 'Greased Lightning' from the movie "Grease" that Travolta starred in: "You know that I ain't braggin', she's a real pussy wagon Greased lightnin'"

Yes this is the only tarantino film to have a sequel. But there is a Tarantino connected universe that shares characters who's backstories are described in other films. The cab driver from Pulp Fiction obsessed with killing is the main character in Curdled. In the film curdled the Gecko Brothers make a cameo in a news clip that was from the beginning of From Dusk Till Dawn. Characters from Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, and Natural Born Killers are mentioned in the other films. Planet Terror, Death Proof, and Machete are also on this interconnected universe as well as Kill Bill which has the same sheriff that appears in Planet Terror and Death Proof Those are the ones I know about.
@heathra682 жыл бұрын
Came here after seeing your Pulp Fiction reaction. Mia Wallace talks about the pilot she was in about 5 female killers, and she was the deadliest with a knife. Some like to think that Kill Bill is the story she talks about in Pulp Fiction. I don't know if he's ever addressed it, but it's a cool thought experiment.

I used to rent videos- VHS tapes, from Tarantino who worked there- I’d ride my bike - I lived in Manhattan Beach in the early 70’s ~ 90’s.. I’d ride my bra h cruiser to rent and return tapes - it was a small shop with super cool old videos ALWAYS on. Almost always marshal arts, or a 70’s crime movie- but shears something smooth. That’s why you see so much of those film genres, actors and references in his work. He was always extremely nice, I was a chubby little kid and summers were long - I’d return videos, my mother was nutty as grandmas fruitcake - and was into cult horror films like “Phantasm” - and that’s the “good stuff”- And his store was full of wild vintage VHS movies Good memories, I have almost all his work Try “Sukiyaki Western Django” He acts in that, For one of his idols, And one of my top 5 directors ever Takeshi Miike- Miike- is the inspiration for many action/ fight scene choreography- He’s a genius You’ll LOVE IT.

I understand, especially if someone who had never seen this movie before why you'd make the statement you did at the beginning, but I don't know why, it drives me insane when people call kill Bill volume 2 a sequel. Miriam and Webster printed a dictionary in 1990, they also printed one in 2022. Is the one they printed in 2022 the sequel to the 1990 dictionary? No, people do not phrase it that way because to do so feels ridiculous. Kill Bill vol 2 is the back half of this movie. Not the sequel, just what comes after intermission.

Any film made in 2003 has the same visual quality as any film made today. The only things that would date the movie are current events planted in the movie, or current idealogical thought, or pop culture humor present. Those elements are missing. And fashion has not changed significantly since about 1994. Most films from 1995 forward that do not have the above markers look like they were made yesterday. Only the use of CGI is the only other factor that could date a movie. And Kill Bill's effects are mostly in camera techniques that have been used in film since the silent era. You should pay better attention to film history especially during your lifetime. It will make your commentaries more intelligent. Your commentary on camera set ups and techniques are top notch though. Keep it up.
