That opening scene was so masterfully done. When Cage drops down and you only get a brief glimpse of him before it cuts away messed me and my wife up when we saw it in theaters. I did all the viral marketing stuff and have the cipher for the coded messages. When I watch it tonight, I'll go through and translate all the letters he wrote. Exceptionally well made film, the only complaints I have are Harker not connecting her birthday with her boss's daughter's birthday and the end where she kind of just stands there until she doesn't. For more Maika Monroe, I recommend Villians (2019, with Bill Skarsgard), Significant Other (2022), and The Guest (2014). I haven’t seen “Watcher” (2022) yet but it looks good and has a decent RT score. She’s also in “Hot Summer Nights” (2017) with Timothee Chalamet, but it’s not horror/suspense.

Nic cage was still pretty creepy in this. Even though i didn't like the movie... and that hand thing he did over his face is sign language for SPIDER... oh Chance u ever see THE CELL 2000?...its honestly jennifer lopez best role besides Selena, and Vince Vaghn's best role too. Vincent D'Onofrio is so good in it too. The aesthetics is amazing. Its very avant garde i mean the visuals, set design, the makeup/costume designs, the Score the camera work its just so creative and nightmarishly scary. I just wish it had been a longer movie. I bet it was expensive to make...it basically was inspired by DREAMSCAPE an 80s thriller with dennis quaid and that guy who plays villains so well like T-bird from THE CROW, the guy arnold drops in Commando. The Cell would make a super dope and fun horror series.....like netflix maybe or ryan murphy who did american horror story.

I was so disappointed in this film. ☹..prop to their marketing tactics.. "scariest movie of all time..one of the best serial killer movies since silence of the lambs" etc etc.. i dragged my dad with me to see it in theaters..only 5 people including us were there. I study killers (Psych and Criminology) and criminal profiling, crime scene analysis/investigation.. so i went in believing the lies about the movie..its not a serial killer movie..li's a supernatural thriller..I finally read actual reviews of the movie and they brought up everything i thought

@@chanceshouseofhorror6053 it's probably cuz i went in thinking it'd be one of those crime thrillers like Seven..it had such a negative affect on my reaction cuz it went like super weird after the first half hour... if someone said hey kim go see long legs its a spooky supernatural thriller with nic cage, i think i wouldn't have reacted the way i did.. i even walked in the scorching sun for 15 minutes cuz we were on the wrong side of this huge mall and i still had my pain and injury going on...and i hadn't seen a movie in theater with my pops since 2001...so it was a big deal for us.. and he knows my passion for crime that's why i thought it'd be a realistic story about a killer named long legs...it just sounded so good and i went in blind i never even watched the trailer or any movie review for it all i saw was the comparison to silence of the lambs and the fact that it said it was the scariest serial killer movie since SOTL..cuz we have not have a really good SK movie in a long time other than Seven and Zodiac. I don't even mind when a film turns supernatural i was just hyped up and in the mood for a dark suspense horror involving a deranged killer.. Like for instance the Bill Paxton film FRAILTY was cool it began with a disturbing story of this man's childhood trauma dealing with his serial killer father GOD'S HANDS KILLER and he claims he can see their evil deeds with his hands like john coffey from THE GREEN MILE, and there was this huge twist at the end.. 2 of them.. i liked that movie it had emotion, tension and it was creepy.....i just think long legs could have been way better as it had some good ideas.. the scenes were just too long and drawn out like a 10 minute slow conversation could have been easily done in 3 minutes lol..imo a successful horror has emotion..like Seven, silence of the lambs, the Cell, like dang! talk about emotion.
