its a combination of social anxiety and intimidation of why we "freeze." that and the fact we dont want to make an azz out of ourselves, but wind up becoming said azz for the awkwardness. btw the accent lighting with the rest of the fit looked awesome. attn to detail 10/10

I recommend watching Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (or just Ponyo in the US), which is my favorite Ghibli movie. It's about a little goldfish girl named Ponyo who befriends and falls in love with five-year old Sosuke. In order to stay with him, she expose herself to her dad, the wizard Fujimoto's potions, to become human. Though doing so causes an imbalance in nature, including a tsunami floods the town where Sosuke lives. It's up to Ponyo and Sosuke to prove their love to save the world from terrible consequences.

Glad you chose the Japanese voice. I am sorry but I was shocked that the dubbed American version just sounded like a loud child's voice. In Japan, there are many scenes where both adults and children watch anime naturally, but I learned only after going abroad that Japan is the only country like this.

There are two dubs. The current one is awful. The original dub is much better.

I’m not the *best* to be commenting on this, but as a Japanese American with no sisters, my understanding is that it was very normal in Japanese families for dads to bathe with their daughters until the daughters were about 12 or so, so Satsuki’s probably getting close to the limit here. I don’t know if this is still normal in Japan or not. I didn’t bathe with my daughter ever. Really appreciate you using the native audio track, because I just love hearing different languages in movies. I even used the Spanish soundtrack on movies like Encanto; it just feels more legit to me.

Not Japanese or Asian at all but my family used to bathe together all the time till I was like 7 or 8, the main reason is we couldn't really afford hot water 4 different times a day but it was also a fun way to bond while doing something some children aren't really fond of. Also if you're a single parent with very young daughters that as we see aren't really careful, taking the time to take a bath alone would give them time to get into all kinds of trouble while you're not looking, so it's best to keep an eye on them.
@ft2bme9 ай бұрын
@@laurainathunderstorm I never thought about the hot water-saving aspect. That’s a very good point.
@Byrvurra4 ай бұрын
It's normal. It was definitely normal in 1958 which is roughly when this film takes place. Japan has a whole social bathing culture and it is not uncommon for families to bathe together. Honestly for a lot of the same reasons @laurainathunderstorm mentioned, saving water, bonding experience. They don't have all the same hang ups about nudity as we do in the west, in general. To the extent that they do, it's behavior they learned from us lol.

Sadly, even at 53 I have no answer for you as to why guys are often unable to speak around someone that are crushing on....best answer would be fear of saying something stupid and giving a reason for insta-rejection. Also "She's a rebellious and stubborn girl", so channel name change to Mandy Mei coming soon? :D For anime series, of you want to get in to one that also has movies, Madoka Magical Girl is highly recommended here

My problem is getting the adults to stop and take time to watch Anime films and programs with their kids, to see what they are getting out of it and why they love it so. If you have trouble getting your older kids to converse with you, watch the thing they enjoy so much, and start asking questions; you'll discover that you are Amoure'd with these stories too. And the kids won't stop talking.

She has spinal tuberculosis, just like Hayao Miyazaki's mother did. This movie is loosely autobiographical, except instead of two boys it's two girls.
