@@Syntell to be fair, we don’t learn about the pacifier and its purpose until damn near end of the series. So it isn’t really like it got skipped over or left out for the live action

​​@@GalekC I doubt there will be another season unless they just start from where this season leaves off and write their own story without using much from the source. This LA covers everything up to the chapter black arc. Chapter black(portal), Torukane mansion(Yukina), and the Dark Tournament are all combined into a single arc in this. The only thing they did not include in this adaptation was the 3 kings arc, which was mostly unfinished and when Togashi was in very bad health. Hell the manga literally skips the whole tournament in that arc with a single panel. Point being, unless they go off on their own path mostly, maybe using some characters and plot threads they left untouched, a s2 is unlikely. That said, they could definitely somehow do a reverski and let Rando, the Saint Beasts, Sensui, and the 3 kings arc all somehow be combined into one in a different way, if this gets enough traction. May be odd to have those enemies after Toguro, but meh, it could still be fun and it's own thing.

The way Yuzuke expression changed when Enma's name mentioned because in Japan, the name used to be so popular for scaring a children. They have a superstition saying: "If you lie, Lord Enma will pull out your tongue" or smth like that.

In the list of my top 10 favorite animes, Yu Yu Hakusho is in 1st place. I watched it more than 10 times, I know the characters' lines, and knowing about the existence of the live action made me super happy. It's an adaptation, it won't be the same as the original story, but for me it's worth it because they took a lot of care to develop this series. I'm following the reaction of people who don't know the work, to see their point of view.

I've seen all 5 episode. It's great for those who haven't seen the anime. Kinda annoying for those who've seen the original because of how much they cut out from the source material.... IMO the show should've been 10 episode or if sticking with 5 episode then the ending should be a lead up to the tournament arc.

So what I was thinking is if they made it 10 episodes and made the last half the invasion part of the island including some of the better fight scenes, it would have been perfect. Since they watched the whole thing, what I'm thinking is they dont have the cliff hanger at episode 3, instead, they find out where the sister is at that episode end. Then they try to invade one place unsuccessfully as a group when toguro shows up and deletes a floor like he did in the anime, 5 is them going back to genkai and have him spend the whole episode getting the spirit orb put in him with all the screaming while days pass and they try to locate where they took the sister. So that way the cliff hanger is urameshi walking out with the spirit orb. Then they go to the island and fight all the cool shit from the tournament but instead it's just all body guards. That way they don't have to put so much cg on a crowd or whatever. Then they would have 5 whole ass episodes to do all of the fights with like 1 episode (episode 9) of them catching up as a group and taking 5 or something, then 10 would be 5 from this series. it would condense everything, and it would touch on all of the important parts. We would skip urameshi's first mission and the tournament, but at least we would get to see all the cool ass demons. I think that would have been the better approach for condensing it so much.

Yu Yu Hakusho was a favorite anime on Toonami back in the day,. So far, this looks promising. As far as quality, for me, the "One Piece" live-action is next level and nothing comes close, I feel. I agree that "Rurouni Kenshin" live-action movies, for me, are probably the next best of the live-action adaptations so far. (at least that I have seen). I hope it stays true to the anime, as much as possible.

Fantastic reaction this adaptation changes stuff from the anime the characters they nailed the fight scenes are incredible hope this gets a season 2 😊❤🎉

in the middle ofmy first rewatch.These adaptations are getting better! I loved the Cowboy Bebop one even though i had my fair share of issues with it, One Piece was a blast, Avatar has been pretty great, and this one knocks it out of the park! Happy i watched the japanese dub though, cause some of the VA is just- yeah.

I'm from Philippines and I watched it in filipino dubbed w/ eng sub and it hits different, I actually like the watching experience more and the curses are more brutal in filipino 😅

When it comes to the characters you got to remember this is an old anime.. a lot of new anime characters are based off of them.. i think yall should at least watch the first season of the anime to get a better understanding of the show and how the characters fit together

This is a decent adaptation for me. I especially liked the change on Kuwabara because his character design looked old and i found him annoying in the anime, so casting an actor who could pass as a student and having the character be less of a slapsticky clown is a welcome change. it's not perfect but it's enjoyable and i finished the whole season in just one sitting.😊 i wish they had the whole Dark Tournament though. that was my favorite arc and there were so many great characters from the other teams, but they chose to reduce it down to just two 😗

I loved the anime watch it 💯 s of times. The adoption is crammed but likeable and fair. Plus get to know the characters personally. Why One Piece was fantastic. Give Netflix a 7 due to cgi but acceptable. Kawaba love kittens should be included may I say so.

They ruined the joke with Koenma by introducing him as an adult. Yusuke expected him to be some kind of monster, but to his surprise, he’s a talking baby. He has an adult form, introduced later, but he still has the pacifier. It just doesn’t work as well if he isn’t introduced as a talking baby.

I have seen all the 5 episodes. Personally everything is good. though they made some major changes with the story as well as the characters. The only thing that bothers me is the Protagonist. I hate the way they portray Yusuke. He's a cocky lame -ass character compared to the anime. always slouching, feeling cool and all. makes me sick watching him. but the other characters I have no problems at all especially with Kurama. He's even cooler in the live action compare to Heie (which apparently my favorite character in the anime). Also, Heie didnt opened his third eye the whole time which kinda sucks. They really need to rethink this one if they ever get the 2nd season.

@syntell if possible please watch the series in original Japanese voice with subtitles, you will feel the emotion and weight in the sound, dubbing is ok but not comparable to the original. Thanks Edit- dubbing is pretty bad Editing as watching the reaction- dubbing is the worst I have seen in long time, how did these VA got hired by Netflix
