This is one of my faves and the full clip is worth finding, it's hilarious. We had a few poor years growing up and this is all too relatable. My parents tried to hide it though - my mom told me that ramen was a special treat, lol. Theo is totally right though - poor doesn't care what color you are, poor is poor.

I grew up in an all white middle class neighborhood in the Deep South. I had two older brothers so by the time I got their hand-me-downs there was little left for me to wear. I used to get two pairs of shoes a year and the use of any shoes left over from prior years from my brothers. One year my dad decided that I had an advantage in shoes because of all the shoes in the closet, so he passed on buying me shoes for me for a couple years. I cut grass from my 11th birthday till I was 15 to have money in my pocket. At 15 I got a job with McDonalds. I worked 30+ hours a week in college and paid for a large portion of my college tuition from summer jobs. When I hear the term "white privilege" its hard for me to consider my life as privileged. We had food to eat and a place to live but that's hardly the criteria for calling someone "privileged. Too many blacks have been brain washed into thinking that all whites received some kind of "privilege check" from the government. Life was never easy until after college, and that is pretty much the same story from all the kids I grew up with in Mobile.

Nowadays 95% of black folks are living off them same privilege checks the media is trying to lie whites have. It's a far easier life for minorities now that the media has tried brainwashing everyone about that false narrative. The minorities get free housing, free food, free education, guaranteed loans all based on using their skin color as a reason. Sorry, but I grew up in a mixed neighborhood and didn't see anyone have an advantage or disadvantage over one another. All of our Black, White, Hispanic and Asian parents struggled the same with bills and work...for the media to push that crt bullshit onto our kids is super racist, hypocritical and a one-sided narrative.
