The thing with Rogue is that she's not just taking powers when she's touching someone. She's literally killing them, and if she touches for too. In the first film, that one kiss put her friend in a coma for 3 weeks, and she almost killed Logan twice just touching him...

It's always been interesting to me how the MCU was built without the X-Men so we have a lot of Marvel fans who have little to no exposure to the X-Men. I grew up with the 90's FOX Kids tv show and of course eventually got into the MCU, so to read that Rogue absorbed the powers of Thor and Hulk to defeat the Avengers is wild to me considering how strong they are. I'm really hoping the new X-Men Cartoon is great, but will watch it either way lol

I remember how, in one story, it was established that if she absorbs another mutant to the point that they die, she gains their powers permanently. She did that with Gambit if I remember correctly.

@@elite_rock_god2292 She's nowhere close to some mutants in X-Men. She's ridiculously strong, but she's not Omega level. For reference; her lover from the comics, Gambit, *is* omega level. He has the power to harness potential energy into physical energy. He can toss a card and have it go off like a grenade, shrug off psychic attacks (with the power of a dirty mind) and can actually withstand Rogue's touch and still retain his powers. Bobby Drake (Iceman) is also an Omega Level mutant, as is Archangel, Magneto and Legion.

The story is so different in the comics, it's not even funny. I can take this and appreciate it as an alternate take on the story, what might have been, but the original story is so much deeper and complex.

Not to mention, the Phoenix Force stuff that is throughout several books and storylines. By cutting out the elements that they did, they limited themselves a LOT on what story lines they can use.
