I'm recently retired but I spent many years caretaking remote properties on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Being paid to live on some of the most spectacular places in the world was amazing. If I can offer a tip; if you are interested in pursuing similar opportunities in the future, arm yourself with some relevant certifications. Water treatment and septic system maintenance are valuable skills.

Hello, Awesome, Hard working adventure. I learned techniques of long term storage of food items especially eggs and other produce and food items. The Amish people do the long term storage since way back. All foods can spoil over time even staples of rice, beans and other food items. These old skills which are still useful today for such a long term caretaker positions regardless of power from generators, problems can occur. I am a new subscriber and look forward to your adventures.

Looks like I've found a new channel to follow! But, as others have said, you don't need any music, or at least keep it really low volume (I didn't hate the music), but please please please stop the subtitles! I find English subtitles on English speaking videos incredibly jarring to watch and have to physically cover half the screen of my laptop with a piece of paper to block them out! The YT subtitles are there for anyone who is hard of hearing, even if they're sometimes not 100% perfect, they're good enough. And apart from a few individuals who may be hard of hearing, why would any English speaker need English subtitles? Sorry to criticise (or is it feedback?!), other than that, your content so far looks really amazing, and I do mean that! Looking forward to following you.

A bear runs at 30 MPH if it charges. A rifle is not much good. A shotgun with SSG (32 cal lead balls) is what you need. In remote areas safety is important wear gloves, safety boots and eye protection. Some time comment on why do you have so many fresh vegitables? Good you are freezing and canning. A gas generator was never designed to run for long time, a deisel genterator can run for almost ever. Check the oil every day. It also uses less fuel.
