I usually just donate it. Gorgeous books! I read all the Dana girls books growing up. I actually read ANY series Grosset and Dunlap published: Nancy Drew, Cherry Ames, Student Nurse, The Hardy Boys, The Bobbsey Twins, etc.! The basket is so pretty!

Yes, Lead Kindly Light, is indeed a hymn, written by St. John Henry Newman. 🎶 The books are just beautiful. I wish I had heard of those other mysteries by Carolyn Keene. My girls just gobbled up the Nancy Drew books when they were 10 to 12. What a great haul! 📚🤩📚

Yes, if it's really bad, I pass. If it's moderate I try sunshine to help kill the smell. Moisture isn't kind to books!

Hi Rachel. Thank you for sharing this. I myself love books as well! Especially the classics. I’m jealous of this book haul; and you absolutely cannot beat that price! Regarding your first makeover, why not hang bundles of “drying herbs” from the pegs? You can use faux herbs to dyi each bundle, if you don’t want to use real ones. It would certainly be in keeping with decor for the kitchen. 🤗❤️😊🙏

What a fantastic book haul. Loved them all!! When I hang my aprons I iron the sashes and tie a nice bow. You can tie a knot in the neck strap of aprons without sashes. The books are so beautiful. My husband's grandmother was a collector of books and his father was a librarian so there is a huge library in the home that my husband grew up in. I have gathered some favorite small books to use as decor in our home. Old books are so beautiful. Also, maybe you could put some vintage kitchen untensils such a measuring spoons on some of the basket pegs. I love following along as you make this house your home.

I'm so jealous of those books! My grandfather is a vintage book seller out of Portland area and he finds the best things so cheaply on that side of the country! I live in Florida however and vintage/antique books are high dollar items in my area. I've wondered if it's because our humidity just destroys paper items so quickly so many of the old ones from here got trashed a long time ago? Those gilded art nouveau style books in particular are absolutely amazing! My favorite style of book by far. I agree on the basket being maybe a bit too full looking with the aprons there. They're not quite the right scale I think. Maybe you could hang some small things if you were so inclined. Vintage looking eggs on ribbons comes to mind for me. Or tiny garden tools? I feel like you'd be happier with something wider to hold the aprons. They need a bit of space so the skirts can have breathing room and don't look crammed in. Anyway, beautiful things as always
