Wow this has got to be the first side by side video Ive actually watched from start to finish. Thanks for breaking everything down, from what these machines are like to operate, what different functions are for along with their purpose. Now I know the difference between 4 wheel drive and diff lock. Would have never even considered a 4 seater but I now know you can take the back seats out. 100% educational. Finally a video from someone that actually sells these things for a living. Great job

I have the '21 RMAX4 LE, it's a beast!! about a month ago was our first trip with the RMAX, I put 100 miles on the RMAX day 1. We never noticed any cab heat at all, we were in the RMAX for 8 hours. The ride in the RMAX is so comfortable at the end of each day, we weren't worn down or fatigued at all and were eager for the next days ride to come. My favorite mode is "Sport Mode", wholly cow, warp speed Mr. Sulu!! Grab onto something and hold on tight...LOL. We're 2 months into owning our RMAX and we are super pleased with our choice of SxS.

Yamaha makes great stuff. Still driving my 2004 Rhino with no issues,. I havnt even changed the belt, just fluid changes. Being a carb motor at times in the very cold winter it can take awhile to warm up. Its in great shape and for sale, im old and dont really uses it anymore. Many SXS dont have engine breaking but its great to have. Polaris carry 3 belts on a fun run.

I really like the Rmax, just wish the 2 seater was a tad longer like the new Commander (also would give it a bigger bed) or close to the KRX in wheelbase. Maybe Yamaha will listen and come out with an Rmax XL version in the future. I personally think if your running 30+ inch tires the mid 90s in wheelbase is perfect. I agree with your take on the 4wd system, closest to it is Kawasaki, very comparable but the 3 drive modes on the Rmax raises the bar.

Just ordered a new Rmax4. Have a Teryx right now. The biggest selling point for me is the transmission. Have had a Yamaha a ATV before I know that the transmission was bulletproof and it shifted completely smooth. Having Polaris ATV and the Kawasaki after that the transmission shifting is a pain and in certain situations wants to stick in place if you have pressure on it. Can’t wait to get it and see how it goes!

wow, what an informative and thorough review! I wasn't really considering the 4 seater, but never thought about the ability to take out the rear seats and have a large covered cargo area for packing out for a camping trip! That really has me thinking, lol. I'm intrigued by that added versatility. I have ZERO experience in these side by sides, but have seriously gotten the itch to get one and get into this hobby. I really like the looks and performance (reviews) on the General XP 1000, but feel like this RMAX is just a better built machine (especially in the interior "fit and finish" (from watching other reviews). I think this RMAX LE is a LOT of vehicle for the money, compared to other brands...just wish the looks were more appealing to me.

Hey Fish great review on the R-max. It's definitely on my short list of S×S. I ride areas in PA I know you're familiar with. AOAA, FRO, and Michaux State Forest. I think the R-max would do a fine job in these areas. We also ride Rock Run, Mountain Ridge, Lost Trails, SSRT, and Bloody Skillet. We also do Hatfield McCoy twice s year. I think it would do well in all mentioned places. I've looked at one and the fit and finish is a level above. The wife likes it too, always a big help..

This is a great review! I appreciate the level of detail you show and watched the entire video. I own a 2015 Commander and had good luck with it for over 14,000 km (8500 miles) and I plan to keep it for a while yet but I know I will have to replace it eventually so I'm trying to figure out what I'd buy. I like how wide the interior is in this Yamaha comparted to the Commander, which is much narrower inside compared to the old model. The materials in the Yamaha look first rate and looks like the interior of a truck. I especially like the nice steering wheel and the soft touch points, those are nice touches. The drive system seems great. 'm curious if you've driven one of the new Commanders with the new smart-lok system with the auto front diff lock to see how it compares to Yamaha's setup.

Great review. You tipped me over there edge and I went to my dealer today and put a deposit down on the machine. Luckily for me they had one brand new in the showroom. It's now mine. I would love to hear about the accessories on the vehicle. More particularly, did you use OE accessories. the side view mirrors look like aftermarket, but the windshield looks like the Yamaha factory version as does the front bumper. Also, the lighting looks OE. I saw a switch for the pod lights but didn't see the pod lights on the vehicle. so whats on that vehicle. Thanks Brian for a great review.

@FishersOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
Hey Bret, I think the RMAX4 is a totally different machine than the Maverick Sport Max’s we’ve had. I think you’re good with either one, it really depends what you’re looking for. I would highly recommend driving both if you can. If there’s any off road events near you they usually have manufacturers there that you can test drive them. Now days it takes a while to get any unit with all the supply chain issues. I waited at least six months for my RMAX4. Thanks for watching our channel my friend.
