@KrowKnows2 жыл бұрын
@@theanimalguys4667 If it's a water conditioner that remove chorine from fresh tap water that may not be good for the fish after awhile but it won't have any affect on the filter directly. On the other hand there are some "water conditioners" that are to help cycling a new tank, it's suppose to make the cycling go faster like within 7 days by building up and promoting the beneficial bacteria in the filtration media but in my experience of using it, it can make for a weaker tank, as in it can crash easier then one that has been naturally cycled. In any case I don't think it's a good thing to use a water conditioner daily, unless it says to in the instructions. I hope this helps.

I have seen the show and I can verify that it's kept in a very large tank for one fish, the part of the series that the poster is referencing is when Steven notices something off about the fish thus setting off a paranoid response due to his mental health, so he makes an impromptu visit to a fish store to get it checked. Also some of the scenes with the fish are CGI, but i don't know the IRL to CGI ratio of the fish scenes.

2:01 as someone who breeds a good pair of honey guramis for a year now, the problem i see with these 2 is that they are 2 diffrent breeds of gurami and that they both are males, you should always hold them in groups with atleast 2 females per male (this works fine for me since i got a 2 male 4 female ratio) also Guramis like heavy planted tanks more then they can find hiding spot! which is why just that little of plant wont do!

They are one species, Dwarf Gourami (Trichogaster lalius) one is (Red) Wild Type, and the other (Blue) seems to go by several names, Cobalt, Powder blue, Coral blue. This species, two males should be pretty chill with each other, if they have space to get away from each other, it's adding females when the dynamic tank will likely change.

5:17 the 1958 film White Wilderness featured footage of lemmings throwing themselves off a cliff, but it was actually the documentary crew throwing them off. The 2008 film Snow Buddies had an outbreak of illness among the puppies on set. There were over 30 puppies involved in the filming, an initial 25 and they bought more when some of the first group became ill or died. 5 dogs died in total, with many others becoming ill. There's a reason that movies have that little reassurance at the end, "no animals were harmed ..." etc. Animals dying in the making of a movie used to be very common. Regulations are so often written in blood. It's a shame there's not more protection for non mammal animals.

Her tank doesn’t have anything to block their line of sight either. On top of that, she said she was going to go back and get more of the dwarf gouramis which means pretty soon her tank will be a battle field

Depends in how you have your tank if its heavily planted and have rocks and boulders in it you can keep them together kinda similar to betas
@bufficliff8978 Жыл бұрын
@@josephgreen203Her tank isn't like that, and even with heavy scape it's foolish to put territorial and aggressive fish in a situation where they might fight if you're not forced to. Their aggression ISN'T as severe as some describe, but that doesn't mean you put two territorial fish in a tank just because there's a chance they won't fight. If your tank is REALLY big and they've got enough space to have their own territory and a neutral zone then whatever. But her scape had nothing for them.

I had a 38 gallon tank for many years and it was heavily planted and we did very well with it. The reason the powder blue go zipping to the left is because there is not enough cover for him in a new to him tank. The dwarf gourami doesn't go zipping because she released it into a plant

@jerod40362 жыл бұрын
While hillstream loaches are naturally found in cool fast moving water but many people it large amounts of experience (aquarium co-op crew etc) have all said they can be kept at 78F in very slow moving water just fine. From my own experience with keeping a gourami with a hillstream loach is that my gourami was overly curious about the loach and kept swimming up to it (never tried to bite it though) and the loach kept getting so intimidated by the gourami it always hid. Ended up adding more plants and moving the gourami to another tank and the loach was pretty happy after that. My main concern with that the 2 gouramis might fight or that the loach will get bullied by the amount of larger boisterous fish in that tank and not have any hiding places.

Apparently they brought 25 puppies from a breeder(apparentally unlicensed or a puppy mill) , got 5 more. Some or all? Were actually 6 weeks old as opposed to the 8 weeks minimum puppies SHOULD be taken from their mother and the extra time helps their immune system. Many got parasites then most or all got parovirus. The cold where they filmed didn’t help. 5 puppies died. Then they shipped the 25 to vets? Got another 25 or 30 puppies which were exposed to the parovirus either left by the other puppies or from the parovirus rampant in Vancouver around that time? Articles say maybe other puppies died while being looked at by vets? Someone had a puppy from the film and it was sick for a long time. Well I’ll be destroying my DVD copy of that movie. The other movies hadn’t killed any puppies it seems but wow young, YOUNG puppies plus the cold plus no vaccines I can only assume = get lost Disney.

For that first tank, I think the problem people have with it is the loach; a lot of people (still) think they can only survive in river setups, but they've been successfully kept and even bred in a wide range of conditions so no worries there Personally, the only thing *I'd* worry about is having a pair of gouramis, because one will likely end up constantly chasing and bullying the other, which is why I personally recommend just one or a small group, despite most people saying a pair is just fine As for the real reason why people hate the tank, I can't really say for sure without knowing what people are exactly saying about it at the source

For the Golden tank in Moonknight I’d give it an honest 5/5… Everytime there’s a scene with it in the shot I can’t look away it’s so nice. Giving the blender a 1/5 just for the effort but come on Steven use something normal with a lid and n o b l a d e s to carry your baby around

pretty sure the hillstream loach is having a hard time finding any high flow hair algae to eat on those tiny for a high flow hill stream rocks

Explaining the moon knight fish. On the series, the protagonist has a fish that lacks one of its fins. He only transports a fish in a blender temporarily since he thinks it's an imposter(? But actually the aquarium in which the fish is kept is somewhat decent in terms of size. no fish were actually used in the series, it is really easy to notice how it is just a 3d model, the movement gives it away. The one problem is that the fish in the series allegedly dies when the protagonist goes missing 3 days..... No fish that is healthy dies in 3 days from lack of food. It is quite in inaccurate but I guess people don't generally know that you don have to feed a fish every single day a lot. (While writing this I came up with a theory.... Maybe Steven takes good care of the fish... And Marc maybe threw a bunch of fish food and caused an ammonia spike and killed it instead of it dying from lack of food)

I have a AQ since about half to a year. I isn't the biggest just 60l. I startet with just some Guppys an two coris. Over the time I startet thinking about that I wanted a fish that peaks out. Something special an I have got m eyes on the bettas before, but didn't add one cause there's a lot of people and stuff saying bettas and other fish, especially Guppys, are not that good together. Just one day I was in a local fishstore and looked for fish as I saw a beautiful perlwhite young betta girl. Dumboearfins but relatively short fins. She was in a tiny tank with tons of other fish and looked not happy at all. I thought she would be a kinda completely white pearls one, but damn I didn't know that this girl, named her Sakura, was the best betta I could get. At first she was little stressed by my Guppys, but as time gone by she got confident an beautifully colored day by day. She is now a super happy, friendly girl. She has her own space with plants on the surface an a bettabed. There she have her time alone. She collier so much up and is letting my Guppys in peace. The Guppys on the other hand have ,kinda, respect and don't go to ,,her,, place. Sometimes if one younger one gets to close she chase them off. But never bit in the fins or so. She loves to look at the young Guppys and watch over the little shrimps in the plants. I have all aroun at the moment 6 bigger Guppys and 4 still growing. I select the Guppys every time they get the coloures or to many, cause to a special idea for coloring. I know my girl and the other fishes are happy and healthy, cause I look at them an See they are eating well, behave normal and do ,,zoomies,, and they coloure up so good. Sakura is now a relativ short finned pearly white with orange/red and creamy spots on hea and to the fins. In the light she looks pearls light blue/violet or kinda rose.

The person in the first tank eventually adds in a pea puffer AND a pleco 😢 The Reddit post ended up on r/shittyaquariums again recently.

for the first tank: this creator refuses to listen especially when they are keeping a pea puffer alone, and blocks anyone who gives good advice! they are in fact not feeding them well, or properly. she doesn’t do any research before getting fish! also, it’s not a 39 gallon, it’s a 37. the same tank i have. they are also controversial because they emptied their tank and washed it with *soap*, and said it was okay when it wasn’t 😅

i am curious about the first tank tho... is it a bad tank because they added a hilstream loach? if they havent had the tank set up long then i can see why the loach would starve and i read that they preferer to be in groups. also they are adding the lonely loach to a tropical tank which isnt what they would normally be housed in, however i also read that its not impossible for them to be kept in warmer tanks

In Moon Night the main character bought a goldfish that was missing a fin and then he woke up and it had the fin back somehow, I'm not sure how, I don't think they explained it yet. The fish is in I think a 29 gallon but I'm not sure. There was a funny scene where he brought it back to the store using a blender as a transport cup, and he thought they were messing with him somehow and swapped out the fish and the owner was like ????? (He kept the fish).
