Most time when i fish for trout, i tend to use rooster tail. I tend to catch most of my trouts on a white and silver color with and without a small hint of red streaks. Then for all around species would be chartreuse with a gold spinner rooster tail.

Jordan, the fish you caught on the worm was a pure westslope cutthroat trout, not a cutbow. The spoting pattern and yellow/orange on the cheek tell me there’s no rainbow in that fish.

Jordan, my brother in Christ, getcha some balanced leech flies or tiny 1/8 jig head flies for your lake fly fishing. It will change the fly game for ya in those stocked trout lakes.

I went fishing at Grantsville reservoir this morning, and used the bobber and worm. I got a couple two or three pretty good bites but couldn't hook a fish. The lake was just beautiful with the sunrise and the little swallow birds swirling into the sun and splashing into the water for bugs. A keeper fish swam past me right at the shore, too. I see em jumping too. As fall gets cooler the fishing will get better. . .

No. 1 tiger bait, gold Castmaster. I fished 5 years in Utah, Wyo,, Idaho, Mont. Tried everything and castmaster was always the tiger trout killer. There's a river in eastern Or that I have had 30 brown trout days. With one fly I used in Utah. Slayed the brownies .
