Fishing a BRAND NEW Lake for RARE Species! (Nebraska Fishing)

Finally got back out to a newer lake in the Omaha area and found myself catching 2 very rare species for this side of the state. One of them being my favorite fish to target. It has been a long and busy summer which hasn't allowed me to get out as much as I have wanted to but I will always be making videos and fishing when I have the time. A huge thank you to everyone that sticks around and supports.

Tried fishing Flanagan this summer and the weeds were terrible! Ended up fly casting openings in the weeds and did ok. Can’t wait to move back next year and put a boat or kayak on there

I walked here and i caught a lot of small mouth, caught 2 massive smallmouth and one decent perch. I used worms and went to my favorite spot.

What do you consider as massive Smallmouth? Just asking because I’m used to catching 5lbs smallmouth in Minnesota. Also what lake/pond is this?

Yo my and my friend fish this lake and I found something that works well is to cut up a brown plastic worm with a Texas rig, at that little cove past the one u were fishing at

Where in Nebraska do we have smallmouth... I know you can catch them in the river over on the Iowa side along with largemouth

Big Mac by Ogallala has TONS of 3-5lb smallmouths.

Newport landing is loaded with small mouth but public fishing is limited

I80 lakes - War Axe....hit in during spawn (Mar-May) and you can catch some decent smallmouth.

That is either Big Elk or Portal Lake, but both are terribly weeded up already right now.... to the point that they are almost unfishable even with a kayak because the weeds are soooooo thick.
